I tuned in for a couple of matches and in each case I couldn't make it past the first few overs of play. What I saw was just boring. There are very few spectators in the stands so there's no real atmosphere. Much of the time the cameras focused on the owners' boxes as if I were supposed to know who they are. Plus the broadcasts I saw had no commentary; that's okay if there's ambience provided by the spectators but since there were no spectators the absence of commentators made the matches feel lifeless.
In reply to Halliwell
Maybe you would find it more interesting if ADKR were 3-0 rather than 0-3
Just read that these matches aren't counted for 'official T20' status.
That has to suck for the players (if you're trying to parlay it into contracts elsewhere).

Udana to Hetmyer, SIX, full, high above the waist. Surely a no ball? Hetmyer surprised and swung losing balance, the ball flies over short third man off the top edge. Incredible it went all the way. Actually it just dipped under the waist
17.3
Udana to Hetmyer, SIX, Hetmyer with a timely six. Short slower delivery, Hetmyer pulled this and actually was worried about being caught at deep mid-wicket but this just had enough legs to clear the fielder to the left

The Giants beat Capitals by 6 wickets few days ago, now they have thrashed them again by 101 runs. Losing by 101 runs is massive in this format.
In reply to bdaTryangle
That's because the host nation UAE isn't a Full Member. Marquee players will get contracts wherever. I seriously doubt if anyone is worried about his efforts not being recorded in official stats. Men at work. Money being earned. All is good.
A silly rule though, especially if you're a young guy, a local player, etc. I get the aspects of avoiding corruption/fixing but why not just have independent consultants vet the league in the first place?
We were just talking about Major League Cricket in the US next year. Surely that too then won't be counted for the stats folk.
What about the Fairbreak Invitational for women? It's hosted in Hong Kong.

Kumara to Fletcher, out Lbw!! Excellent review from Kumara. He was the only one interested in the appeal and since the umpire turned him down, he asked his skipper to challenge the decision. Angled in and this was not short enough to pull, Fletcher shuffles across and gets into a tangle, misses and is struck around the kneeroll. Ball-tracking showed it to be smashing into leg-stump and the umpire overturns his decision. Massive moment in the game as the set batter has been sent back.

It is a bit tough. That's how cricket goes, swallow the hard pill and move on quickly. That was a good total on that pitch and our bowlers tried their best. In close games like this you try to pinpoint too many things. We could have fielded better and should have finished better with the bat. We have to get a few things in order. We have to take it one game at a time and take it from there.
Kieron Pollard:
That is the nature of T20 cricket. That is what fans and viewers want to see. Obviously DJ was there. he's an experienced campaigner and we know what Najibullah can do, so my money was on my team. It was a good game. We weren't best with the ball, we tried to get wickets rather than trying to contain them. But we can do better as a bowling and fielding team.

Karunaratne had to mind the rope, had to control his speed running to the left from long-off, had to time his stretch right to grab it with both hands and then hit the brakes and steer away to avoid the rope. And he ensured he did all this to perfection, Powell bowls a wide full delivery, Pollard reaches out and lofts, doesn't get as much power. Catch it is the scream from Powell and it's taken. de Grandhomme to Pooran, SIX, finally Pooran connects with one. Length delivery angled across, Pooran swings across the line and gets a lot of height, he also gets the distance to clear cow corner

Brathwaite to Pooran, 1 run, drop number three. It is Pooran's day. He can get away with anything. Short and angled across, Pooran goes for the pull and gets a top-edge in front of square on the leg-side. Two fielders converge - CdG and Hetmyer - and they both can't hold on. CdG goes for it eventually but he only gets a fingertip to it

out Bowled!! Brathwaite gets a 3-fer! He is on song tonight! He steams in from over the wicket and bowls a skiddy length ball on middle and off. Tom Curran with no feet movement tries to counter it but misses. The ball deflects off his back leg and disturbs the woodwork. Tom Curran b Brathwaite 13(13) [4s-1]

Since the ILT20 organizers determined last week that prize money would be offered to the two teams in the final, Sheldon and Sherfane getting a decent send-off too. Ofc thats in addition to their pretty decent contract fees. "Lickit" dont play, it pays!
I hope the coaches and assistants made a good payday too, Phil and Teacher Sammy at DC and Otis (bowling coach) at GG.
