Regardless of the outcome of the match between Jamaica and Leewards, that is secondary to the fact that young Mansingh, with two fifties in his first two innings for Jamaica, and along with some splendid bowling, with crucial wickets, it looks like he could become the first real West Indian allrounder since Holder. When we look at the innings by young Nandu of Guyana and some others around the region, all might not be so lost for WI cricket future but these young players will need great developmental programs and many overseas tours.

Mansingh 1st Real Allrounder since Holder
Bookmark my post everyone!
This is his first game in a second-tier competition, so while you may be right, in the long run, it is way too early.

Mayers is not real?
Paul is not real?

Lets watch these two young WI cricketers, for their successful development and the others who are trying to play positive cricket.

No, I am watching a few others, especially Nandu

I like both Meyers and Paul but the reaction by fans usually is that much more was expected from them with such enormous talents and abilities, seems like CWI is failing in the development of some of our talented players.

Check out the archives, this was the same response I got when I posted that a King is born, many criticized my proactive optimism about King. Lets see if my cricket senses will also be correct about Mansingh, although he has a long way to go.

Let me state a fact that I am 100% certain that many do not realize.
Mansingh is 10 months OLDER than Keemo Paul and 4 months younger than Shimron Hetmyer.
In other words he is their peer.

Shepherd is not real?

In that same game Cornwall took 10 wickets and made 80-odd in one innings. What about him?
In reply to Slipfeeler
All Kudos to Mansingh.,.
One inning and he is genuine all rounder!!!
Let the boy complete the season...
Same for Nandu and Melius.... good luck to all

Good start, young man.
Akshai must be so proud of his son!
He is also a winning school boy captain.
Googs, Mansingh for Captain.

Late selection to Yaad set because of biases. Hope that's behind us now.
However, what's your point exactly?

1st Real Allrounder since Sobers speaks!

I must have missed your protestations in the past at his non-selection.I would like to know when he performed so well at trials or Senior Cup matches that he warranted selection and when his exclusion was vehemently protested in the press
We tend to praise centuries and 5 wicket hauls in our domestic competition as good and then when they are repeated we take note that such a player might be worthy of consideration for WI cricket.
For us to be lauding a 25 year old on debut for scoring 2 fifties and a 5 wicket match haul in our domestic competition where all our top players are missing dues to either WI duty or franchise cricket attendance is OVER THE TOP.
To say we now have the first all-rounder since Jason Holder who had been rated the number 1 All-Rounder in the world is RIDICULOUS!!!
Mayers has a TEST double century and a 5 wicket TEST haul.
Cornwall just took 10 wickets in that same match but if someone had said Cornwall is the best off-spinner since Lance Gibbs we would be wanting to get men in white coats to visit that person who uttered that nonsense.
