The 23 nation Block that comprise the African Union finally expelled Israel, they had enjoyed the privilege of observer status. It was simply wonderful to see the Israeli representative escorted out of the summit.
Israel's ally, the criminal gang that runs Saudi Arabia, wasn't thrilled but no amount of arm twisting prevailed.
It is hoped the UN would follow suit

AFRICAN UNION EXPELS APARTHEID ISRAEL
In reply to Emir
So Israel wasn't expelled.

About time - Jimmy Carter called that one ages ago
Israel is trying to divide the international community on palestibe by getting the us to offer bribes and incentives to other nations like they did with morocco sudan and the uae .but the african union is not having it
Watch this space, Africa is awakening. Many African leaders are now standing up to the USA and Europe.

....Yes and siding with Putin and China as if that will be a lesser evil.
In reply to carl0002
I don't know about the siding part .What I do know is that China is heavily involved in the development of infrastructures on the continent.I do know also that some African leaders refused to call out Russia's invasion of Ukraine ,choosing to remain neutral on the issue.

Ans only last year, Jimmy called them out again- he said they were just like apartheid SA, but the media here won't tell you that.

Clearly they are having it because the article itself states:
Israel obtained AU observer status in 2021 after 20 years of diplomatic efforts, in a decision that has created a rift in the 55-member bloc.
Relations between Israel and a series of African countries have warmed over the past decade, particularly during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's time in office. Israel has diplomatic relations with 46 African countries.
If any moral can be drawn from this story, it's that many African countries are resisting pressure by Arab/Muslim states.
