I am not quite sure how I missed that when it was first produced in the mid late 70's.
The obvious content was obviously remarkable, but the format and pace was simply superb. I look at modern day shows like this, and it doesn't come close.
Also, notice Ali's mom, quite obvious Afro-Cherokee heritage- what a beautiful family.

A masterpiece!

I spent an evening with Ali, here in Calgary.
I saw him working a room, without having to leave his table, where I sat with him, and his five body guards at another table.
Mohammed Ali love people.

What year was that?
In reply to Emir
1973-1974
I met a brother from Nova Scotia one night, he had no place to stay, I had an apartment so I allowed him to stay with me.
He and I was never at home together, we would meet some nights in a popular night club.
One of the girls he was seeing, was coming to se me one evening to let me know what was happening in my apartment, Ali was staying at the Palliser Fairmount hotel, which is next door to the tower, he and his Bodyguards stopped her, and ask her if she knew any brothers, she told them she was going to see one.
I remember that evening , because a waitress said to me, Mohammed Ali is here to see me, it was a joke, she said it about 3-4 times, as I looked to see if she was telling the truth, there was Ali, looking at me, we ran towards each other, hugs and kisses, than he asked, where are the sisters?
What an evening, the girls sat with his bodyguards the entire evening, the Guards and I went to the club and close the bar.
Ali went back to his hotel, he had company.
BTW, the girl was white.

Ali during that time was in Calgary twice a year doing exhibitions at the Stampede Corral, the guy who was responsible for him coming to Calgary was Jewish.
Seeing him and Howard Cosell was not surprising to me.
They is a couple in Calgary who has been after me to write a book, he want gossip about one of the greatest Oilers hockey players.

Lemme guess Messier or Grant Fuhr?
In reply to Emir
Great Show...
They could have invited someone from The Nation Of Islam, or Malcolm X's widow.
Afterall; Ali remained a Muslim..
In reply to Elsie
Well two things:
Muhammad Ali left the Nation of Islam very early in his life, as did Malcom X- both said the Nation of Islam were not Muslims based upon many aspects of their belief system.
Muhammad Ali had remained a well-wisher and friend of them- he felt they would have come around to mainstream as many did.
I am also a friend of the NOI.
In reply to Curtis
