I don't really know about these things personally but I remember reading something about how Canadian ganja over the past few decades has become far more potent due to controlled growing conditions and breeding.

According to Health Canada

THC potency in dried cannabis has increased from an average of 3% in the 1980s to around 15% today. Some strains can have an average as high as 30% THC.

Apparently this is not your father's weed, grown in Canada.

One word should describe what we've come to and what that represents and it ends with E-R-Y pluralised IES
Long before the 1st US state 'legalized' weed UWI should've been researching and working with farmers. Heck the agri ministry too, regardless of what the US govt would've said or done.

Wouldn’t be surprised if one or more of the kleptomaneighbas have personal financial interest in the importation scheme

Now I believe that there is a for sale sign up for Jamaica.

Imagine all the efforts over the years to kill Ja's weed crops, then, all of a sudden, weed is legal in parts of US and in Canada, and huge farms already in place to grow it. If that isn't organized economic oppression and capitalist manipulation, I don't know what is.

Stupid Yardie Politicians miss the ganja boat again.

'FOR SALE" signs are big ..have been up in recent years. The cowtowing to EU about death penalty and 'battymanism,
alternative lifestyles were the last keys to the sellout.

Most Jamaicans have been and are been left behind.

Why is the weed being imported? For local consumption in the raw form, or to process into some derivative?
Could it just be that it’s a variety of weed that’s not grown enough locally? I’m sure that Jamaica imports coffee…no?
