Right then, the prime ministers are presenting the Test caps to both the skippers. Mr. Modi presents the cap to Rohit Sharma, while Mr. Albanese presents the baggy green to Steve Smith. They'll have a lap of honour across the ground to celebrate 75 years of friendship between India and Australia.

Umesh Yadav to Head, no run, what happened there? Again the wobbly ball outside off, Head pushed at it and edged it. Thick edge, the ball carried to easily to the keeper who fluffed it. Simple take goes down. The batter poked at that one away from his body and almost paid the price for it. dropped on 7
aus 24-0
out Caught by Jadeja!! The drinks break has done the magic. How often do we see that? Head shimmies down the wicket and tries to take on Ashwin, but this comes off the cue end. Miscues it towards mid-on as he doesn't get the required elevation and Jadeja takes a safe catch moving across to his left. Was dropped earlier in the day by Bharat, but the keeper will be pretty pleased, now that Head is gone! Head c Jadeja b Ashwin 32(44) [4s-7]

Starc to Shubman Gill, 2 runs, to deep mid-wicket
12.2
Starc to Shubman Gill, FOUR, lovely, overpitched by Starc - Gill gets a big stride forward, feet right to he pitch of the ball and then unfurls a superb cover-drive, into the gap wide of cover and runs away to the boundary
12.5
Starc to Shubman Gill, FOUR, a bit of glove on the pull and it runs away fine past the diving keper - banged in short and Gill was late on the pull, flicked the gloves and he's lucky that it went well out of Carey's reach

Starc to Shubman Gill, 3 runs, to long-off

Starc to Rohit, FOUR, nicely played, tad too short from Starc - Rohit swivels across, rolled his wrists over and pulled it very fine, runs away to the boundary in a hurry
14.6
Starc to Rohit, SIX, smashed, you can't bowl short to Rohit, not on this slow wicket - he spots the length early, swivels across and thumps the pull over long leg for a maximum

Kuhnemann to Rohit, out Caught by Labuschagne!! That's as soft as it gets, Rohit smashes the bat onto his pad as he walks away in frustration - dropped short and just outside off, Rohit was shaping for the back-foot punch, the shot was on, but the ball did seem to stop on him a bit, he ended up going thtrough with the shot and finding Labushagne at short cover-point. A wicket against the run of play, but Australia will not complain one bit!

- Shubman Gill notched up his second Test ton, his first Test century in India
- Gill and Pujara had a pivotal 113-run partnership for the second wicket
- Virat Kohli became the fifth Indian batsman to reach the 4000-run mark in Tests on - Indian soil
- Kohli scored a Test fifty after 14 months, his last half century came against SA in Jan 2022
- Australia took the second new ball after 94 overs, but Kohli and Jadeja survived that comfortably
It feels great to score a hundred here. This is my IPL home ground and glad to get some runs here. The pitch was pretty good to bat on. Anything happening off the pitch was off the rough area. I was looking to pick singles whenever possible. Honestly, I was still trying to be positive and was keep looking for singles. They weren't attacking that much. We are three down for almost 300. We would look to get a big score on day 4. Who knows the wicket might help our bowlers on day
IND 294/3 (100) CRR: 2.94
Day 4: 1st Session - India trail by 186 runs
Murphy to Jadeja, FOUR, drops it short, flatter, quicker, Jadeja chops that away uppishly and gets it away from the man at slip for a four

First time India have had 50+ stands for each of the first four wickets against Australia.
After this match, Team India will have a long break from international cricket. If King Kohli manages to score a century, it will be a good way to end the season.
