Deandra Dottin releases detailed statement - WPL

West Indies' Deandra Dottin has released a statement over her controversial exclusion from the inaugural Womens Premier League by the Gujarat Giants franchise.
Dottin had been left out due to medical reasons, claimed the Giants and had replaced her with Kim Garth.
The player had refuted those claims by posting cryptic messages on her social media handles which had further fueled the controversy.
She has now come out with her side of events in a detailed statement put out on Twitter.

They probably changed their mind about her, but didn't know how to get out of it
So they use the small denominator to terminate her contract.

True, nothing to do with CWI but I imagine with Deandra having limited opportunities to secure some great deals at this stage of her professional career, she was obligated to put this response out.
Seems like she's ready to go though, so expect to see her in the Hundred in a couple months and who knows what next.

I am a huge fan of Dottin but I side with the franchise on this one based on her statement. It appears that she would not be 100% fit to represent the franchise but was insistent because of the moneys involved. I don't believe she would play for Windies under the same circumstances citing medical issues.

I think the Giants did a risk analysis based on all the reports and timelines to arrive at their final decision.

Ah doh understand DD. She herself sought second opinions but apparently objected to the Franchise getting an independent assessment on her fitness. Did she refuse to see another doctor because she was cleared by her own physician?

The timing of everything makes everything tight. The draft was on Feb 13. According to the statement, Deandra was cleared to resume training as of Feb 14. And she got further clearance on Feb 20, but apparently not by someone that Gujurat relies on.
What a mess.

a. Having ended her WI career controversially I may add even if she is right her credibility/reliability will be questioned
b. Everyone now knows her options are more n more limited and will not mind playing hardball.
I only hope that she can maximize the benefits of her talents for the time she has left in the game.
