I am observing from the WC, all our batsmen seem to be over confident that they will clear the boundary riders and they hit straight to them without trying to find the gaps.

Over Confidence to recklessness
In reply to Pacyimmemorial
This has been happening from time immemorial. Problem is our guys just seem to b lacking in grey matter - they ceaaaar
learn.
In reply to Pacy
it has to do with their inability to construct an innings...if you know how to do that....you don't need to play block or slog
2 reasons mainly for that
1. not knowing enough of batsmanship, mainly from lack of 4 day cricket
2. the proliferation of lickit...many of our guys are expected to bat 20 balls an innings for their career in t20
Pooran is the best example
In reply to doosra
The above is the reason why I read of all your posts.

Nicholas Pooran
1. played 52 ODI innings and batted over 75 balls 5 times...that's about 10%, 60 or more balls 7 times (13%)
In other words, Pooran has batted less than 10 overs 87% of the times in ODIs
2. played 64 T20i innings, batted 50 or more balls ZERO times (0%), 40 or more balls 4 times (6%), batted 30 or more balls 11 times (17%)
in other words, Pooran has batted 5 or less overs in T20s 90% of the time
So batting long periods is an almost strange and unknown experience for NP
Muddie attack on Pooran- will the other crabs allow it?
In reply to Barry
it's not an attack, it's an example and an identification of a problem
we even made his our cappo at GAW
In reply to doosra
Are there other examples you want to mention?
In reply to Barry
I am sure, I can bring Hetmyer too if you like
i said Pooran was the best example because he's played much more than the other guys in both formats...
In ODIs, Hetmyer is 6/44 above 75 balls (14%), and 7/44 above 60 balls 916%)
In T20s, played 42 innings, batted 50 or more balls 1 time (2%), 40 or more balls 3 times (7%), batted 30 or more balls 7 times (17%)

You fool
you cant have a generalization of one
In reply to doosra
Good stats that can be used to provide conclusions for analytical minds.
Players like Pooran just make up numbers without contributing nothing substantial to team batting or success.
This is where our brains trust is lacking. They cannot use numbers to guide decision making.
Thanks much.
In reply to Barry
i said best example, i offered more
now if you want to dispute what i said about the reason for their inability to bat long then go on
In reply to Courtesy
You know me? If you know analysis you would know what a generalization is
In reply to doosra
You offered from this team? Lets start with Odean Smith- Reckless?

You think I stupid like Lara
his numbers stop you from voting against him. I dont even know if West Indians- diasporean or not- are numerically inclined
. They invent nothing and just tear down their neighbors
West Indians do Anansi Math for trickery
Good morning, Mrs. Hen. Can you help me with a problem?
MRS. HEN:
Of course, Mr. Spider, what can I do?
ANANSI:
I have planted these yam hills. But I dont know how many I have. Would you count them for me, PLEEEZZ?
NARRATOR 4:
Mrs. Hen was onto Anansis tricks, however! A few weeks before, she had seen him fool Brother Scorpion.
NARRATOR 1:
Mrs. Hen walked over to the last yam hill and climbed on top.
MRS. HEN:
Lets see, Spider. You have 1...2...3...4 yam hills -- and the one Im standing on.
NARRATOR 2:
Anansi was angry!
ANANSI:
What are you doing? That is not how you count!
MRS. HEN:
Why, what do you mean, Mr. Spider?
ANANSI:
I dont know of a number called the one Im standing on. Start again!
NARRATOR 3:
So Mrs. Hen began again
