Wow, what a monstrous and devastating batting from Johnson Charles? Brings back memories of the great West Indian batsmen and it couldnt come at a better time for West Indian fans all over the world. We were wondering what happened to the WI fighting spirit lately, we cannot just play docile every innings. Thanks Charles for reminding us that we are still a great cricketing region, hopefully this innings and the previous one by Hope, will inspire the rest of our batsmen to consistently great performances.

Great knock by any measure

A very measured knock.
He has developed his off side play quite well
West Indies batsmen though inconsistent can knock a good punch any day but we wish for them to be more consistent, as demonstrated by Hope now Charles.

He always had an offside game but he favours the the on. What's key is that Johnno now understands his game better and is more refined
Dot-ball percentage was too high!

It's nearing genius to be scoring heavily in boundaries and not hwv3 "some" dot balls - a very difficult balance to strike. The issue is when we're not hitting boundaries we face so many dot balls or we have a high percentage while hitting
Like Gayle, Charles' strength is his hand-to-eye coordination. He still needs to work on moving his feet to the ball. This stand and deliver technique fails more often than not especially against quality bowling. CONGRATS to the young man nevertheless. Hopefully he will get a gig in the IPL.

It demonstrates that Charles is still in good form but our selectors would have us think otherwise despite his selection and even regarding Lewis too.
