Israel is boiling until Netanyahu cries Uncle.

The criminal wannabe dictator, in the vein of Trump, fired his defence minister after he decided he could no longer go along with Bibi’s push to overhaul the judiciary.

Now, even the Israeli president is calling for a stop in Bibi’s grab for more power, after yesterday’s mass protest.

The Social Rifts That Led to Israel’s Judicial Crisis.

The 1992 legislation provided the legal basis for the Supreme Court to strike down laws in Parliament that its judges felt undermined fundamental personal liberties, like the rights to privacy and property. It has used the power more than 20 times since.
That included restricting some Israeli settlement construction in the occupied West Bank and removing certain privileges awarded by Parliament to ultra-Orthodox Jews — moves that drew the ire of both communities.

Now, three decades later, a new ultraright governing coalition is trying to sharply reduce the Supreme Court’s powers. The effort is at the heart of a deep ideological and cultural divide in Israel between those who want a more secular and pluralist state and those with a more religious and nationalist vision. The dispute has brought about waves of protests, turmoil in the military, criticism from influential American Jews and the Israeli tech sector, and fears of civil unrest.

The court’s critics, who tend to be more religious and right-wing, envisage Israel as a majoritarian democracy that gives elected lawmakers primacy over the judiciary. They associate the court’s judges with Israel’s secular elite, personified in a former chief justice, Aharon Barak, who helped shape the court as it is today.

The court’s supporters want Israel to be a liberal democracy, with strong judicial checks and balances on Parliament, and see the court as a last defense against a rising far right.

In any democracy, the people have the power, but the political shenanigans blind them!

There is no democracy in apartheid Israel -folks are only upset now that it affects them. Jimmy Carter called this out years ago

There is no democracy anywhere, but we got to work with what we have!

The Arabs would blot out Israel tomorrow if they could! Man to man is unjust!

One group fighting for survival, and the other for freedom - pick your poison!

I had stopped posting as most on here have no clue of the real world..it’s bias and bias .. you need an education of the Mideast and Israel ..
First up !!!Was the 6 million Jews killed by arabs ??? Oops the arabs were disguised as Germans .
Second.. Israel is expanding by pillaging .. which means burning and razing Palestinians lands and homes.. and in this civil world the RAPES are never reported.. because the Israelis are civil
Thirdly .. the surrounding Arab nations are keeping Israel to continue its barbaric and apartheid attitude ... simply by not helping the Palestinians ... all the arabs ( and the world ) do is condemn Israel actions but do donkey shit..
Fourth ... GET FACTS BEFORE YOU POST !!!

And many others also did. look the media both left and right here in the US and Western Europe is complicit in Israel as a colonial occupier.

Imagine, a collection of mainly Eastern European peoples took over the land of an ancient people on a dubious religious belief and slaughtered, murdered, ravaged and continue to torture what is left of them.

Sick indeed.

UN Resolutions means nothing to Israel, someone is giving Israel freedom to break every rule, but most countries must abide by those same rules. Why can't Netynyahu be charged for "War Crimes",hundreds of crimes are committed against Palestinians daily.

Arabs would kill them at the drop of a pin on the basis it's not Jewish land!

The history of that land is troublesome for many, including the UN.

I am living in a land taken from the "Red Indians," if yah know what I mean

Only two nations are blocking this: The USA and England.

Many others have committed much less and were charged for crimes against humanity, heck they had no problem indicting Putin, and his sins are less than Netanayu.

In the USA, Evangelical Christianity mythology holds a belief that requires the "jews to reclaim Jerusalem" before they messiah will return, they belief this messiah is the Prophet Jesus.

One man's myth is another man's reality!
