by exam results.
Seven are all girls with Immaculate at #1. Three are Co-ed. The three- Campion High, Glenmuir High and DeCarteret College. Not one of KC, Calabar, JC, Georges or Wolmer's Boys is in the top ten.

Name the Top Ten High Schools in JA

Should schools be judged by exam results?
In reply to Chrissy
What does that really say when those same schools are the recipients of the top GSAT/PEP preparatory and primary school scorers?
It is expected.

I assume you posted this because of what Headley said on the other thread.
Sudden, sometimes you are too smart for your own good...do you have another measure. Maybe how may doctors and lawyers and professors went to the schools, what measure do you want to use?
In reply to Chrissy
Name-brand schools, in general, always performed well academically!
Surprise to see the colleges not performing that well - MC, KC, GC, JC, Knox C, Cornwall C, Clarendon C
Hampton and Westwood Girls have fallen off the list!
In reply to Chrissy
Kudos to Carl002s Decarteret College
.one of my siblings(and my nephew and nieces) went there as well
In reply to XDFIX
Clarendon has never had a period where they performed well and so does not belong on that list...same for Knox

School life should be about finding yourself, building friendships, generally enjoying that part of your life as much as, if not more so than, it is about academics.
I find that too much emphasis is placed on academics as oppose to what I mentioned above which go to character building and the production of well rounded citizens
And I say all that to say that I enjoyed my life at school and thank goodness for that. Lots of people I know didnt because they constantly had to study or attend lessons after school and on weekends to meet their parents expectations and ended up in jobs / careers that they did not like and not finding their true purpose in life
School should be about exploration, friendships, wonderment and discovery
In reply to sudden
All that is true, but, in order for you to get out (graduate), you have to pass exams and in order for you to move on (university), you have to pass exams. And in order for you to be some knid of professional, you have to pass exams.

Knox is #12 this year. we are usually top 10, and usually along with Glenmuir, the only co ed. its usually all girls at the top.
KC , Georges JC, Cbar etc cant be on the top of the list no matter what they say. why? math. if knox has 200 spaces for gsat, most of them scored at least 90 on the gsat. If yuh cant score 90 Knox no want you. very few exceptions . the athletic powerhouses, their average gsat scores are diluted by the fact that they need to recruit runners for champs and Manning cup teams. you need two runners in each final at champs. it is funny when you see how good Cbar's school challenge team is, and how cringe worthy their athlete interviews are. i dont know how they matriculate

1) Top students in Clarendon will be filtered first to Glenmuir.
2) I question the legitimacy of this list. Herbert Morrison is one of the top schools now and so is St. Jago. Montego Bay High? The list says otherwise.

I see George Scott and Barbara Jones school on the list
In reply to JoeGrine
Yes!! but we fell out of the top 10. Ms. Jones would not be happy! nuff cussing would happen in devotion to make sure that we know that anything expect excellence, is unacceptable.
A question on my mind for years, is the number of places at top schools available shared equally between boys and girls? I tend to think there are more places for elite girl students than boys.
In reply to HumbleCalf
That would be a terrible idea.

Babes is a boss
In reply to Chrissy
Can't argue against that one!
In reply to Chrissy
Wait a minute. U know Babsy Jones?

"Bull G" wife
In reply to JoeGrine
Yes. I dont think u will find a Knox past student that doesnt love her. She is a boss. You do not necessary it when you are 13 or 14, but in retrospect, it is obvious what she was all about
In reply to rudebway
Will message you - she's the sister of my good friend who died - know all the sisters and knew her hubby and know all their children and cousins.
In reply to Chrissy
