I am baffled that Kevin Sinclair is not on either ODI squad named by the selectors.

What is his record in ODI cricket as opposed to the ODI record of his competitor who is going?

He has only played 3 ODI matches in August 2022 vs New Zealand
Match 1 he bowled 10 overs and took 1-37
Match 2 he bowled 8.2 overs and took 4-41
Match 3 he bowled 10 overs and took 0-45 ending up with an overall record of 5 wickets for 123 runs with an economy rate of 4.34
Now in looking at that 3 rd match to understand the context of the match.West Indies scored 301 runs in their 50 overs and lost the match when New Zealand scored 307 of 47.1 overs scoring at 6.51 runs per over. Please note that Cariah who was selected for both ODI squads bowled 9 overs and took 2-77 runs going at 8,56 runs per over,Cariah has an over ODI record of 5 matches and has taken 4 wickets for 248 runs with an economy rate of 7.4
Why is Cariah in the squad and Sinclair is not?
I have my theory.
Who were the people responsible for choosing the Chairman of the Selectors ? and why did Sarwan suddenly realize that his responsibilities of running his business made it impossible to continue as a CWI selector?

I am happy to see the development of KS this year and would have liked to see him partner Motie in at least 2 matches on this tour.

After saying I saw him for the first time during the Headley/Weekes three game matches.
A poster response to my post;
You need to see more cricket before you can sensibly comment on team selections.
I suspect you need to look at the numbers as well.

I have been following regional cricket for decades, this youngsters name was never mention, after reading all the fuss, I had a look at the young man stats.
Only in the West Indies do we want such a player selected at this time.
He is just as green as Jair.

I criticize because none of our present groups players have stats of 40 or higher, to think a player with an average 30 or lower merit selection, and should be selected from one or two performance, it is like a drowning man hanging on to a straw.

You have been watching cricket for more than 60 years and still can only see someone as being good enough AFTER THE FACT.People like you would never have selected Viv Richards to make his test debut or Ronnie Sarwan to make his.
I was very much in the thick of things when the selection of Viv Richards to tour India in 1974 was raised.
His first class record prior to the tour was 2,146 runs at an average of 30.65 with 2 centuries.
Both Clive Lloyd, the newly appointed captain and Garry Sobers were adamant that he must be picked because he was a RARE TALENT REGARDLESS OF HIS AVERAGE

Some 26 years later the WI selectors had a young man Ronnie Sarwan who they had identified as a rare talent from the time he was 14(Hooper had told him when he was 12 that he would play test cricket) who had played 37 First class matches and had an average of 29.24 and yet they selected him for a test match against Pakistan and he scored 84* against the likes of Wasim Akram.
There are numerous other examples where people who know cricket can look past the scores and identify top talent.Clearly you are not and will never be in that group of people

With respect to ODI cricket the key to that game as a bowler is to restrict the scoring rate of the other team so when a barely 20 year old has the most economical rate and helps his team win the competition those who are following the cricket sit up and take notice IRREGARDLESS OF WHETHER THEY ARE THOUSANDS OF MILES AWAY
In 2019 THIS IS WHAT TOOK PLACE

I am yet to see anyone being selected solely on potential, or from someone saying that player is good..
Pelon set me up with a list of Kraigg Brathwaite tons, I shared a link on this mb, every time he scored a ton, I never at anytime suggest his potential as a West Indies player, I only knew his performances was better than anyone in the region within his age group
I was a fan of the youngster that I when home to see is U19 debut and his region debut.
My closest friend from Antigua after seeing him at the U19 level, moved back to Antigua and saw him against the Leewards, the first words from my friend was who is the batting coach in Barbados, he went on to tell me about the changes in Kraigg's game from what he witnessed at the U19 level, to representing Barbados at the regional level.
This is the same Antiguan that said to Richie Richardson he Knows f-all about talent, Richie at a cricket conference in Toronto, one that my friend was at, said to him, Richards Powell is going to be the next great West Indies player.
We know how that great player cricket ended.

When I was about 10 years old, I know something was special about Rohan Kanhai, because the fans in the Kensington stand was arguing who was the better batsman Sir Gary or Rohan.
I knew right then to watch this cricketer, the fans in the Kensington stand are performance base fans, that where It from.

A number of fans believe Colin Blades would had gone on and played for the West Indies, it took the greatest West Indies spinner to embarrassed at the mecca, we all felt sorry for him.
I remembered it today this same way it happened decades ago, Lance in to bowl to Blades not a man moved, Blades cover drive to the boundary, Blades in to bowl to Blade and he bowled him.
Next thing I know Blades moves to Bermuda.

That was his debut match at age 19 and.he did not play a first class match for Barbados until 5 years later. That has nothing to do with Gibbs.

You cannot take just data and treating as gospel, if Colin Blades was in Barbados he would had represented Barbados, cricket was in his veins as a youngster, he was totally embarrassed that evening and moved to Bermuda.
He may had given up on cricket and pursued his study, returning home after studies and played a few years.
The saying at the time, was he was a coward, and a number of fans believe that Gibbs run him away from the game.
Don't bring Cricketarchive into this discussion, it was part of most fans in the Island thinking and saying at the time.
I wished my memory was alive to tell you what he think on this topic, he was a Lodge school alum, will tell you on the whites schoolboys he went to school with, and was never intimidated by them.
