Played a very good innings but threw it away when set for a century.Tage is in danger if he does not fire in the first test vs India.

Kirk McKenzie
In reply to Dukes
Tage is not in any danger if Kirk doesnt display enough commitment to convert to 100s.
i know who i would rather watch

Youre not a King fan anymore??
In reply to StumpCam
Absolutely I think Brandon King is one of our better batsmen . He made two consecutive ducks but like good cream will rise to the top sooner rather than later
In reply to Dukes
Lets hope so!
Would believe it, the first time I saw Kirk was in the CPL final last year and even though he didnt make much, the way he shaped, I said to myself this boy will go far!
i don't want to jump to far ahead but he looks look like a class above the rest in a region that use to produce stroke makers and ball beaters .but now produces a lot of pokers
In reply to mikelegend
Wait Kirk made two 90s leading the batting and you are talking about lack of commitment? Why are these guys always creating double standards, when incumbent Reefa cannot even make a 50 against an A-team, yet he and others are safe? Crazy talk continues!!
Gwan Kirk! Convert dem.
Gwan Kirk! Convert dem.
indeed. When last have we seen any WI batsman string together such a run of scores? Problem of course is that he has to displace incumbents, not always the easiest thing. if he plays the final match, I would like to see McCaskie come in and Kirk batting at #3. Good for Carty that he has made a decent score. He had a rough FC season but is probably inspired by McKenzie and Athanaze. Poor King has picked the wrong time to lose form.
In reply to PalsofMine
his weakness is spin bowling he is as bad as rovman
In reply to velo
He should get a diet of it on this tour so I hope that like the great Mass George, he learns to play it.
McKenzie should make the team as a number 3, that is where the vacancy exist.
In reply to camos
#3 spot reserved for Hope.
In reply to Dukes
This kid needs to play for WI.. I would play him one down!!
In reply to Jammal22
He needs attention in the nets dealing with spin bowling. After that he will have the potential to be a #3 or #4. I like him. There is something there but he still has work to do.

Thank you for bringing your experience to this post.
We seem to look at a few innings, select the player, quickly discard him and go on to another.
We have let to from from or failures of the last 30 years.
Let the rebuilding begin.
Tage and Kraigg stays at the top for now, in a few years Kraigg can be Shivlike, batting down the order.
Kirk
Athanaze
Blackwood/Mayers
DaSilva
Holder/Mayers
Hosein/Motie
Joseph
Seales/Jordan
Roach

NO, the King surpasses all Hope.

, we may have to wait another 2000 years for the King to rise

Alizari Josephs?
In reply to Chrissy
The current number 3 is not staying around until the arrival of spin, so that alone, even if incremental ,is an improvement.

In reply to Yadi
He is part of the process.
In reply to velo
we will have paint drying if Tage and Kraigg open the innings
In reply to Slipfeeler
Do you agree that Tage is in danger of being replaced by Mckensie if the above happens??
Tage deserves a fully series run vs. India
In reply to Brerzerk
it is unfair to say that Tage's place is in danger. We have a middle order full of holes and that is where the patch needs to be applied immediately, not at the top of the order
If he is scoring so many runs and have problem playing spin! So do the other who can hardly score any runs remain entrenched in the line up?
They seem to have a problem with both pace and spin. I think it's poppycock.
In reply to buds The argument about him not playing spin is silly, when compared to the rest of the team.
In reply to camos
It certainly is. He can play spin well. He is just very aggressive, and it leads to his downfall. Who does not have a weakness on the team. I will take him any day compared to the others. He is just 22yrs young too.
I note the suggestion that Kirk McKenzie could well be slotted in at # 3 since Reifer has ailed to impress at that position and Athanaze seems to prefer to bat #4. In addition it has been posited that Tage deserves a longer run. These are all reasonable positions and I have no problem with them.
