ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Senior Men’s Selection Panel today announced the squad for the second Cycle Pure Agarbathi Test Match powered by YES BANK against India. The Panel named 13 squad members and two traveling reserve players for the match which will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad from 20 to 24 July.
Kevin Sinclair, the off-spinning allrounder has replaced Raymon Reifer in the squad. Reifer will however travel to Trinidad as cover in case of injury. Sinclair was among the leading players in the West Indies Championship four-day first-class competition earlier this year. He also played a significant role with bat and ball in the recent West Indies “A” Team series win in Bangladesh.
Overall, he has so far played 18 first-class matches with 54 wickets including three five-wicket hauls at an average of 23.98 each. With the bat he has scored 756 runs at an average of 29, including six half centuries.

Now I understand why Kevin Sinclair, an off spinner batting # 9 has replaced the number 3 night watchman Raymon Reifer on the 13. I dont know why selectors think Raymon Riefer is so good but he wasnt dropped and cant be dropped..
In an effort to deceive us all they did was add Sinclair on the 13 but Reifer who is not on the 13 and is not one of the two reserves will still remain with the team in case of injury. So you see why they didnt replace Riefer with a number 3 batsman? Come Thursday dont be surprised to hear either Atrthabze, Blackwood or Chanderpaul got injured and the terrific Nightwatchman, Raymond Reifer is on the final 11.

The only change we might see is Cornwall who was our for more than 4hrz in the Dominica test due to some kind of injury or faintness problem, might be left out as injured and Sinclair will come in but Reifer will come in as the injury replacement for Cornwall. Riefer just cannot do anything wrong to be dropped just as Permaul cant do anything good to get selected
It technically should be a Firing Squad.
this was the time to make wholesale changes but our selection panel knows best. Same team. Same licks. Until we pick players with a different attitude towards playing cricket, we will always crumble in the face of better teams (of which there are so many!!)
We need good young U 19 batsmen to come through. We dont want some bit and pieces spinner who may score 20 on a good day.

We just need them to come through
We hope
McKenzie should replace Reifer and Sinclair to replace Cornwall and if fit Gabriel to replace Warrican.
