That was a beat dung by Newcastle on PSG. Your English press acting as if they have already won the Cup.
In reply to nitro
Newcastle 4-1 PSG
Dortmund 0-0 Milan
Leipzig 1-3 Manchester City
Porto 0-1 Barcelona
I'm not a Newcastle fan, but I have to admit they've implemented the forward press perfectly. Their strikers press in unison, and force the turnover that led to the first goal. However, when they come across a team that is skilful enough to tear their forward press apart, and exploit the gaps that strategy creates, then Newcastle will be exposed. Man City will do that to them.
In reply to mikesiva When the system works it is very productive, but it is high risk, when they get beat it is always badly. That said Eddie Howe is doing a great job.

Brasilian magic gave Arsenal 2 goals to go top of the table.
That spin by Jesus for the 1st goal to feed Martinelli was worth the entrance fee. Need to assess that hamstring.
Rice and Tomiyasu were rock solid.

Dwight Yorke on Manchester United
6:35
'When you're playing in a struggling team you will always struggle'
BBC Radio 5 Live
Former Manchester United forward Dwight Yorke hopes Rasmus Hojlund's form in the Champions League will now convert to the Premier League.
Hojlund has scored five goals in four Champions League appearances but is still yet to register in the league after signing for United in the summer for £72m from Atalanta.
"You need a striker who is going to get you anywhere in the region of 20-25 goals. He has got off to a decent start in Europe but he struggles in the Premier League," Yorke told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"Maybe the demands and pace there is different. Maybe in the Champions League it is a bit more tactical and played at a slightly slower pace but he seems to have fitted into the Champions League.
"That record is really good and we would like to see that record improve now in the league. But when you are playing in a struggling team, that doesn't create much for you, you will always struggle no matter how good you are."

Raya saves 2 as Arsenal were perfect from the penalty spot to move into the Quarterfinals
In reply to Acid
That was close!
In reply to Acid
Arsenal 1-0 (1-1) Porto
Arsenal win 4-2 on penalties
Barcelona 3-1 (4-2) Napoli
I don't understand what the fuss is about. I think Raya is better modern keeper than Ramsdale.
In reply to mikesiva
Ramsdale had 2 very good seasons and became a fan favourite so he had that going for him and the fans were on his side and had sympathy for him. Raya had some shaky moments in his first few games especially with positioning for crosses. The positioning was mainly because of playing a high line in order to press when you don’t have the ball.
Raya has proven himself and his distribution has been very good. I would say though that Ramsdale distributes very well with his hands and Raya is better with his feet. With the system at Arsenal, you need a keeper who has good ball control and gets into place almost like a sweeper to support an open position with the right and left backs when you are defending.
In reply to Acid
That's a good assessment. The current system at Arsenal suits Raya better.
Dortmund 2-0 (3-1) Eindhoven
