Two-time Grand Slam champion Simona Halep has been banned for four years for two separate anti-doping rule violations, the International Tennis Integrity Agency said Tuesday.
Halep, 31, has been provisionally suspended since October 2022 after testing positive for banned blood-booster Roxadustat at the US Open last year.
Halep said she would appeal to sport's highest court, saying she "refused to accept" the decision.

That's the end of that career, but she's not going down without a fight. They always say they didn't dope up when caught, and she's no different.

Just the other day I was wondering to myself whats happening with her. She used to be a fixture on the tour and havent heard or seen anything about her for some time.
I just assumed she was injured.
Sad
given her build and body type
.shes tiny compared to the majority of her opponents and she also elected to have breast reductiom surgery
..she had/has the heart of a champion,
Always a tough opponent

Halep said she "adjusted" her nutritional supplements on the recommendation of her team before the hard court season in 2022 and that "none of the listed ingredients included any prohibited substances".
However, she acknowledged that "one of them was contaminated with roxadustat" and she also planned to "pursue all legal remedies against the supplement company in question".
Halep added: "I was tested almost weekly after my initial positive test through early 2023, all of which came back negative.
"I believe in a clean sport and in almost two decades as a professional tennis player, through hundreds of tournaments and two Grand Slam titles, I have taken 200 blood and urine tests to check for prohibited substances - all of which have been clean."
The Professional Tennis Players' Association called the "repeated and unexplained delays" in Halep's case "both unfair and unacceptable" and said it was "fully committed to supporting her in any future appeals"

Confused about this 'contamination' theory. Does it mean that roxadustat was somehow erroneously added to the supplement during production or did the supplement manufacturer simply neglect to list it as an ingredient? Has roxadustat been implicated in other doping cases?

So my wife and I are arguing about that tweet, my guess is that you agree with my wife. I think it's classless, but hey to each his own.
I remember in some champions of champions tournament when Serena lost to some other lady and Halep could lose to that lady and Serena would be out, but Halep dd not play that, she beat that other lady and so Serena advanced to the final along with Halep...and you guessed it, Serena beat Halep in the final.

Why would it be classless. If Halep used drugs to beat Serena at Wimbledon and dat was a shocking upset, then she deserves to be disqualified. Does that not happen in most pro sports events.
Taking drugs is classless.

Not only that. Halep also beat Coco during the time under review.
That win against Serena had to raise eyebrows.

The first thing you do is identify the SOURCE and use the research tools available to you to determine how authentic they are..
Most of the information I see on the internet is UNSOURCED so that it is difficult if not impossible to know who/what the source is.Such information I ignore.

So in the case of Andre Russell banned for 1 year I did a Google search:
https://www.google.com/search?q=andre+russell+banned+1+year
About 33,200,000 results (0.25 seconds)
A cricinfo article comes up but there is no source referenced. Neither is the second link.
How do I know Andre Russell was really banned and this is not fake news?
Also when I do identify the source how do I determine the credibility of the source?
In the end even after your due diligence don't you have to trust someone?
