So far GAW seems to be on the right track in developing the various aspects of their game:
1. They keep rotating their finishing bowlers, today was Kemo, prior game was Moti, prior it was Shep, etc
2. They rotate batting first vs second. It will be essential to develop batting first at Providence so bowlers can defend with a wet ball given the dew factor.
3. Playing the young players....first Junior then now Nandu. Next I would like to see Kevin have a game or two.

In reply to Speed100
Hety too busy hiding
In reply to Speed100
Lol, Hetty look like he want bat at 3?
In reply to imusic
Dukes coming for you...
In reply to googley
Its such a well balanced side and one playing with confidence
Joy to watch
In reply to imusic
Correct he is hiding...but he is not the cappo
Hetty should be batting #3 or #4...Cappo Tahir must order him to do so...enough of this 'finisher' crap....GAW has many finishers in the team already....
In reply to Narper
How exactly do you guys reach this conclusion?
In reply to Halliwell
Have you seen yuh fren Jumpy this morning?
I'm concerned. Time for a wellness check.
In reply to Narper
IMHO, I think Hety has accepted his role to contribute wherever he can! It doesnt appear as though he has the passion nor the drive to be the best he can be given his ability!
In reply to StumpCam
Keemo was asking Johnson if he could bat higher in the XI... Maybe they should consider pushing him up de order.
Hety not interested in batting higher than 5 these days... can't force him to do something he doesn't want to do. Ideally he should be batting ahead of Azam but that won't happen.
In reply to anthonyp
Can you please ask Fuzzy dem WHO IS PIDGEONHOLEing HETY NOW????
In reply to Halliwell
oh bwoy can't leave me friend Mount gay Fuzzy alone huh?
I thought that was the same order for all the matches except for the opener spot changes and the washed out match. Hope and Khan always batted at 3 and 4 ..
In reply to SnoopDog
Jumpy is a student at UTT in Trinidad ...must be at University...
In reply to sgtdjones
What is UTT?
University of Timely Timeouts?

In reply to Kay
that needs to be changed. Hetty and Khan need time out in the middle to get in form as both are out of form. Put Hetty or Khan to open. Let Ayub rest one game.
In reply to SnoopDog
i will hear from you on saturday lol......if TKR lose that game I will eat the humble pie and say it is likely GAW will win their first title. Although, i must tell you, CSK had a very old side in 2021 and went on to win the ipl eh. If we get ayub early, we can win because GAW's lineup has not been tested when he does not make a score. And allyuh know allyuh cannot rely on professor blue hair to sit down and bat out an innings. Nandu looked very good however. was very still at the crease. Would be great if he could play FC cricket consistently.
In reply to Jumpstart
Maaaaan just come and say what you really want to say: Ayub is a better bat than PooPoo in every respect.

In reply to SnoopDog
look, you just started a war!

In reply to googley
I'll leave you to fight it Bro.
I'm outta here!

In reply to SnoopDog
from a technical standpoint yes. pooran's head is on his shoulders, which is not really the best thing when the ball is moving away from you. Ayub actually reminds me a lot of imran nazir, who scored a a whole lot of runs here in the 2000 visit of pakistan and zim. he moves his feet a lot more though. imran had lead feet. Maybe TKR shoud try bowling at the body next game and see how he responds to that, because bowling anywhere near his feet and they are going to travel. but pooran is a once in a generation player, he can defy technical chinks because his hand eye coordination and timing are so good
Ayub is playing really well but on the other hand, he has not had to face really top fast bowling in this competition. No one is bowling back of a length to him and pegging him on the back foot.
GAW, if they now have a confirmed opener in Nandu, may just possibly have a one weakness in that they may be too comfortable chasing because of their batting line up. I would say that the only real chance against them is if they were to have to bat first as the bowling in this year's CPL has been generally rubbish
In reply to StumpCam
Given his ability, it may simply be that hes right where he belongs
Gaw needs to move Azam Khan to open with Ayub. That pair will score faster or out. This makes room for Kevin Sinclair.
Bish is correct, Gaw got too much power hitters spending time on the bench. Gaw batsmen should be firing on all cylinders from ball 1.
In reply to googley
it's not optimal strategy to have Paul, Shepherd, Smith, Pretorius bat 4 overs
can they push a bit more?
In reply to doosra
Hope stop opening?
1. Hope
2. Ayub
3. Hety
4. Azam
5. Keemo
6. Shepherd
Kevin, Smith and the others to follow.
In reply to anthonyp
1. Hope
2. Ayub
3. Hetty
4. Azam
5. Keemo
6. Sheppard
7. Pretorius
8. Smith
9. Sinclair
10. Motie
11. Tahir
In reply to Arlo
I would switch Hope and Azam. Hope is ideal for the middle overs, IMHO.
In reply to Arlo
You picking smith?
In reply to googley
I am fine with that switch. But that is the their best XI
In reply to Jumpstart
Based on the squad yes. Don't mean they have to bowl him. The line up have 7 bowlers
In reply to Arlo
True. But he isnt that consistent with the bat either. Is kinda swing and hope he connects. Ent both them Sinclair boys could bat
In reply to Jumpstart
Who is on the bench that can be tested in the next 2 games?
In reply to googley
Beaton...
In reply to googley
Zazai, Sinclair, Anderson, Beaton.
Yes I know Smith is inconsistent. But based on the squad I would still play him.
In reply to sgtdjones
Beaton is being saved for TKR...to neutralize Mango man
In reply to Arlo
Kevin Sinclair will now play to the end...either replace Smith or come in for Nandu in which case they could send one of the biggies to open or just go Hope or Azam
they have 2 more games to fiddle around a bit
In reply to doosra
You sure about that? Watch them play the same XI again on Saturday
Hope Kevin go to another franchise next year... Because of de way they treated him this season its a big blow to his chances of making the WI t20 squad.
In reply to doosra
Yes, I was just about to edit my last post to say Smith gets drop if they decide to bring back Hemraj to open or stick with Nandu. I don't think Nandu is ready for T20 right now, so I won't play him.
Kevin Sinclair must play.
In reply to Arlo
Nandu is not ready and is just there to get the 5 games in for emerging players...and because this is his last chance I suppose after 2 years they wanted to give him a chance...
it has to be Kevin Sinclair from here on...i'm taking his experience from here on
In reply to anthonyp
well Smith is not even getting to bat...they need more options in the spin department...Kevin can start with the new ball
the man probably happy being a Warrior
i don't think he is in line for the t20 world cup given Chase...
In reply to doosra
Agreed, hence my XI
1. Hope
2. Ayub
3. Hetty
4. Azam
5. Keemo
6. Sheppard
7. Pretorius
8. Smith
9. Kevin
10. Motie
11. Tahir
Unless you want to replace Smith with Junior or Hemraj.
What is the strategy for tonight's game?
I say make changes in the team
2. Win the toss and bat first (again)
In reply to googley
rest all the big boys and don't take trk seriously
In reply to doosra
Why did they sack Kevin Sinclair? He is not with the squad anymore...
Didn't play him for most of the tournament and now they sack him for the Guyana leg.
In reply to anthonyp
he was in the field the other day no?
In reply to doosra
Junior was on the field... If you check the team photo from the first match he wasn't in it... Wasn't with the team for the second match either.
They had meet and greet yesterday and he wasn't around... I asked one of de loyal fans that's close to the team and he confirmed that he's not with the squad anymore.
In reply to AnthonyP and doosra
I heard some very disturbing details as to why he is no longer with GAW.It is very distressing.
What is the strategy for tonight?
Win the toss and field? I say yes to that.
Changes in the team?
a. Bring in Junior Sinclair in place of Nandu.
b. Move Azam to open with Ayub
c. Move Hetty to number 3, Hope at 4.
d. If Odean plays, get him in earlier to have some batting practice.
For tonight's game, winning is not the ultimate goal but building the team for the payoff is the goal. Winning will be bonus, if that happens.
In reply to anthonyp
Regardless of the reason, I am disappointed that he is not around the set up anymore.
I hope it is sorted out soon. Much is at stake for him and the many people he cares
In reply to Dukes
when i read that my heart went cold...I hope things can be sorted out...he is a good kid at heart and I want the best for him...he looks out for many people
In reply to doosra
Thats very disappointing indeed! Management, coaches and players have to put their ego aside for the good of the game!
In reply to StumpCam
Clive Lloyd was very upset he was left out of the WI touring party that went to England in 1966 after he had scored 107 vs Barbados at the Mecca and then 194 at Sabina Park. He became even more upset when he found out that the Bajan selector had told the Guyanese selector that he would only vote for Lloyd if the GT bannah voted for Bynoe. The Guyanese selector refused and neither went to England in 1966.
When Lloyd was selected to tour India in late 1966 Worrell who was in India pulled Lloyd aside and told him that he was not selected because they did not want him to go to England and find the conditions so different from the Caribbean causing him to struggle as it would dent his confidence. Worrell also told him to put that situation behind him and focus on doing well in India.
Today we do not have those kind of common sense leaders who can empathize with players and show them some compassion, grace and understanding. Kevin Sinclair after a stand out year must have been terribly disappointed to not get a single game in this year's CPL. Management should have been talking to him and encouraging him to be patient as now that the 5 games that needed to be played by the Developmental Players is out of the way Kevin would be selected for the last two games and be in contention for the Finals if GAW make it to that game.
Alas when our Leaders lack vision, the people will perish.
In reply to doosra
In reply to anthonyp
What a mess
In reply to doosra
Damn shame.
In reply to googley
It's not a management team that's willing to try new things.
Most likely Hemraj might replace Nandu and the batting order will remain the same... Gonna continue to waste Hety and Shepy down the order.
In reply to googley
They'd have to forklift me out of providence to leave guaranteed money on the table...Kevin needs a good manager
Oh be gosh ...trouble in GAW camp...
well I'd be , Googley gats an excuse now..
Hello come en Snoopy...
In reply to doosra
Think they drafted Kevin for 5k or less... Don't know if CPL works like IPL with players having to play a certain amount of matches to get the full amount.
Maybe he thinks that d team won't make it to de final? So not much to draw down
In reply to anthonyp
they are guaranteed 3rd place worse case. that's 250k which means 10k min when it split up
don't they get sponsorship money as from Exxon etc?
Also what about next year...you are always doing PLs for the next, bigger gig, no
man he needs a manager to help him thru
In reply to doosra
Disappointment was too much for him I guess... Just saw this comment on cricnation592
D man cuss up last night, tell ppl d truth. 🤣. From Harry wrong to Harry right got it last night 😂
In reply to anthonyp
Who are Warriors Coaches????
Klusener
Griffith (this guy has no damn pedigree) dont care about his certificate!
????
In reply to StumpCam
Griffith is the most mysterious personnel in all of wi cricket
the man is coach, fielding coach, etc etc etc
and never in the spotlight
In reply to anthonyp
dark forces in high places a reading
In reply to doosra
Saw that one too... Eventually the reason will come out.
Griffith is a lucky chap... De man used to be Guyana coach/manager/cheif selector... Now he is head coach of GAW... His good partner Hercules is the assistant coach.
Klusener is a consultant... GAW got it all
GAW here are two suggestions as cover for Keemo...
Clinton Pestano
Quentin Sampson
Consider calling up one of them as cover.
In reply to anthonyp
Pestano is not a bad pick...he's in batting form and can bowl death overs
what is the update with Keemo
Still disappointed Kevin not there
i mean this was his weekend to shine
This follows on the heels of Sheppy being a vice-captain in name only. My eyes might not be the best but I can't recall seeing him in any onfield consultations in the 9 games GAW has played so far. Can't quite blame Tahir. He is an installed captain!
Bobby has lost control of his franchise at the moment. You're two games away from possibly winning a championship and recriminations flying thick and fast?
In reply to doosra
Not sure how serious Keemo injury is but they shouldn't risk him tonight.
Pestano was one of the standout players for Everest in the GCA t20 that finished last week... Not a bad replacement.
For tonight match Beaton comes in for Keemo and Junior needs to bowl a few overs upfront. They could consider giving Anderson a knock too.
In reply to anthonyp
I saw Pestano hit the ball out of everest the other day...they had a youtube link
Keemo should not play till the final if they get there if not fully fit
I think they are too predictable with the all pace in power play phase...mix that up a bit...get Jr. to bowl...this was Kevin's own niche
Snoooooopy
GAW gats problems..did you hear...
That was some serious licks... Congrats tkr
Warriors management still can't get it right... The XI is short of a bowler and Odean Smith is not a cricketer.
Ah few things y'all need to do...
- hope that y'all win the toss
- pull in Clinton Pestano as a replacement for Kevin Sinclair
- open with Ayub & Hope or Azam... Let the brainless one bat higher.
This should be y'all XI for Friday
1. Ayub
2. Azam (let him make use of the powerplay)
3. Hope
4. Hety
5. Junior Sinclair (his off spin is needed)
6. Shepherd
7. Pretorius
8. Pestano
9. Motie
10. Joseph
11. Tahir
In reply to anthonyp
and tek wan angastewrah...demman look so tense and scared last night like the world on deh shoulda
In reply to anthonyp
Yall?
You jump ship so quick?

In reply to imusic
Muddies jumping ship everywhere
they dont want another bridesmaid dress...
Warriors management is dumb. Playing Odean as a specialist opening bat
is ridiculous.
In reply to Ridge
Immy wants to "give him confidence"
The strategy is win toss
In reply to doosra
All dem men tense... Pressure buss pipe
Pretorius who is usually a calm fella going after Walton for no reason at all... Alzarri got under their skin when they lost to St Lucia too.
In reply to imusic
Nah... Warriors will be in the finals against tkr on Sunday.
We going for the 6th bridesmaid title
In reply to Ridge
Hold on hold on hold on
Man run here after one innings- where Odean was dropped TREE times, and still didnt make FIDDY runs self
Man was saying Why West Indies doh do dat, that Lance is ah boss
In reply to doosra
It looks like they had no plan for losing the toss. They were at sea after that.
Play Junior Sinclair, which allows them to play an extra overseas. Jr. is also one of their better fielders and offers an off spin option which they dont have. Dont know why they havent played Zazai consistently when he is Gurbazs replacement. XI should look like this.
S. Ayub
H. Zazai
S. Hope
A. Khan
S. Hetmyer
K. Paul - If fit
D. Pretorious
R. Shepherd
G. Motie
J. Sinclair
I. Tahir (c)
In reply to googley
Weren't they planning for exactly this when they won the toss and batted first against Scammy's Mooks a few days ago?
In reply to ThisIsMyName
Coach even with you bowling last night , it would have been licks..
Ice cream man and Pouty were ready to rumble..
In reply to googley
Se TKR meet the Tallawatties in the final huh?
In reply to ThisIsMyName
Don't work so partner... Only 4 overseas players allowed even with the emerging player in the XI.
For the season the emerging players have to play 5 matches... In those 5 matches you are allowed to play 5 overseas players.
In reply to anthonyp
Didnt know that, then swap out Zazai with Hemraj, at this point Smith seems like a liability. But you never know he could prove me wrong.
In reply to SnoopDog
It seems they learned nothing from that experience
GAW strategies
Does it matter?
