Homie you know as well as I that Hope is a terrible puller and hooker. Why do you think he averages only 26 in tests? No fielding restrictions. The only person worse than Hope against the short hall in the WI is Bonber

Did you the catch the spell in which Fidel short- pitched deliveries made Pooran run to the square leg ump for protection?

True. Fidel was bowling well over 90mph in that spell though. It wasn’t bouncers bold by broad and anderson

Bim bowling strategy was poorly thought out in the early days of lickit cricket when T&T manned by Ganga, Pollard the Bravos, Simmons, Narine etc ruled the roost.

With serious quicks in Fidel, Tino, Roach the tactics should have been short pitched thunderbolts at the rib cage and throat/head.

The tits feasted on fast length bowling Bim's quicks served up. Quick short pitched deliveries with pace and intent from Tino and Fidel would have been a different story. Pollard the Bravos and Pooran dont handle short pitched thunderbolts well at all.

It’s a good point! Test cricket is different. If he has sorted out the technician deficiencies of handling the short ball, not driving on the up, bat coming down straight, tightening up bat n pads closer together then yes he’s our best. But, those are lots to do.

I heard him speaking about some of his training routines, which some mornings can start at 3
It is also good to have someone who can spot you, have video from various angles, and assist you with your training routine.

Hoss you didn’t watch the game between Bim and TT on Earl Barrow day in 2012 where Barbados were cleaned up for 90 and Fidel and Tino were so incensed that they bowled fire and brimstone at us……we lost five wickets but they couldn’t get through Pollard who scored more than a third of the runs and took us home. Tino was so vex that day eh. Bharath offered him a handshake and Tino passed the dude straight yes. There’s actually footage of it on YouTube.

Barbados had several fundamental problems. Their pacers were either too slow or too wild( in Tino’s case) to challenge the TT team in t20s on a consistent basis. Jamaica had ironically beaten us in the super 50 the year previous because they had Jerome Taylor who was very fast and very accurate. I think Dre Russ was there as well and he was the same sort of bowler

Any bajan who debuted in the last 30 years ever scored hundreds versus Brett Lee, Waqar and Wasim(four in one season; one at Sabina), Donald, McGrath, Gillespie etc?
Allyuh men just ceaselessly bitter at the spectacular collapse of your cricket eh

I am not up to date with the White ball format, but it is only Gang's reign any Trini should be talking about.
Allyuh was as pitiful as the Combined Island/Leewards and Windwards.
I witnessed Gary running thru a Trini team, as if it was a pick up match.
I am not surprise of the twin Island liking the T20 format, it is like going to a Fet, or liming.

Wasnt it Tino, Fidel and Roach who send the 2012 or thereabouts tit team to hospital. Half the tits were either hit or ran for their lives. Thats the tactics Bim missed out in the early days. The frightening pace was there it wasnt used wisely in Sanford and early lickit. There is a pic of Tino bowling to an empty pitch the bastman was over by square leg ump taking guard. Jumpy youre a liar.

DJ and Pollard did not play that FC game. Bharath and Simmons got injured…..but we made 338, which was the highest total in any of the innings in the game. The second innings Fidel took five wickets. That was the difference. Not Tino, or roach or Chris Jordan who played in that game. The difference was Fidel who was very good and very fast when he got it right. Which goes back to what I said about pooran and Fidel.

The game I’m talking about is the 2012 CT20.

I think that the difference is that Shai is playing with the same intensity as he plays international cricket whereas for most of the others, this is just ho hum another T20 competition. Having said that, I admire a sportsman who takes every game seriously as Shai is now doing. I think/hope/pray that his head is now right for test cricket. He certainly deserves another opportunity and with the limited number of tests that we now play, he has to get this opportunity now.
