This is happening too frequently now for my liking!

What is this, about the 3rd one since the start of the year?

A bit troubling, if you should ask me.

Biggest one ever in my life

here

JA, Cuba, Haiti and other islands affected. 30KM from Kingston.
My sistren in Portland says water was flying out of her pool and running down the driveway.

Yuh fi see people running out of buildings.
I was lucky - returned home from the Tax Office on Constant Spring Road about fifteen minutes before the place started shaking. Books fell from the shelves and a few carvings also fell.
It is absolute chaos now. Traffic lights aren’t working and nuff folks have neither power nor internet.
Word is that buildings have been damaged.
Seriously mi now fraid fi di big one.

I cannot imagine the chaos in the schools.
Love how our neighbourhood folks checked on one another.
Remember now we had a 5.0 on September 23.

Official Statement

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Caribbean Cement Company Limited wishes to advise members of the public that our investigations have revealed no damage at our Rockfort Plant in Kingston and our operations are running as usual despite recent videos circulating on social media and statement running counter.
Our technical team has explained that a sudden emission of dust was due to the brief shutdown of energy, which has since normalized.
Carib Cement thanks the members of the public for ongoing concern. We encourage everyone to remain safe in light of the recent earthquake.

From the Observer
The quake was felt islandwide with an epicentre located about 4 km (2.5 miles) west-northwest of Hope Bay, Portland. There have been a number of reports across the island of minor damage to buildings.

Man, I couldn't stand it if too many Wray and Nephews suffered that fate. Ditto for Dragon, Stripe and Appleton. lol

Listening to my former neighbour Professor Simon Mitchell on RJR - head of the Earthquake Unit at UWI.
Says this was the biggest quake in a century and a half following three reasonably sized quakes in a short space of time.
He says we need to be prepared for something bigger and know where the safe spaces are located at home or at work. But it is not guaranteed that a bigger one will happen.

On di other hand, my brethren called me and said that from Handrew diss JA’s foreign policy to di world, di place started to shake like none a we see in we lifetime.

Look fi a song or two tomorrow lol

Complete gridlock now. I actually walked to Mega Mart - was easier than driving. Traffic lights down.
