I was one of those who joined the crowd that was disgusted with just about everything Withmore did as a coach in his recent stint. Coach Grim has pretty much gone unscathed. Would Withmore have survived this long without being criticized by all and sundry? Hardly likely I suppose.
Under Coach Grimm:
GOALKEEPERS - Blake and Waite seems regulars, what of Coniah Boyce-Clarke? I thought having CB-C in the team was a good move for the future, is it club commitments or no first team play or Coach Grim has "Ravelled" him?
DEFENDERS - good to see Hector back, however, what is his infatuation with Brown? Is Coach Grim's only responsibility to the 20-odd man squad as I have seen no move to develop locals. Topey no development? King got a recent look but beyond that....?
MIDFIELD - Coach Grim seems allergic to deploying anything but a 4 man "midfield" without a truly creative player. Ravel has been jettisoned having committed what must have been an unpardonable act as lack of team play should not have resulted in him not even being in the squad, he is that good and we are that poor. Tyrek Magee and Omari Hutchinson seldom gets the time of day, the latter, not at all. Another allergy Coach Grim has developed since arriving in Jamaica is to benching Leon Bailey. In the past four years, Bailey has at maximum (and I am being generous now) played THREE GAMES where his performance was outstanding and two of those were under Coach Grim, you have communicated that he is a sacred-cow so what bar are you setting for the team when a non-productive player cannot see the bench?
FORWARDS - Antonio and Nicholson are the only two players capable of scoring or keeping defenses honest. Where is his other marksmen coming from? Richards? Williams?
TEAM - Coach Grim is clearly locked in to 4-4-2 and we don't seem to have the material to play that format. Playing Nicholson & Antonio together is not good both, especially Antonio, need space to operate, so either Nicholson subs in or a 4 - 4- 1-1 is employed or Coach Grim learns how to play a 4-3-3 or a 5-3-1-1 or what I think would be best a 3-5-1-1 the latter allows both forwards on the pitch as a 9 and a 10 and gives the coach a crowded midfield he so loves, with hopefully a creative midfielder.
Where is Kaheem Parris?
Are tabs being kept on Satchwell?
Mason Greenwood?
