Former West Indies batter Marlon Samuels has been banned from all cricket for six years by the ICC after he was found guilty of corrupt behaviour during the Abu Dhabi T10 in 2019, where he was part of the Karnataka Tuskers but did not play.

An independent tribunal found Samuels guilty on four counts, including accepting favours that brought himself and the game into disrepute and concealing information from the investigating authorities. He had been punished for a similar offence 15 years ago.

“Samuels played international cricket for close to two decades, during which he participated in numerous anti-corruption sessions and knew exactly what his obligations were under the Anti-Corruption Codes,” Alex Marshall, the head of ICC’s HR and Integrity Unit, said.

“Though he is retired now, Mr Samuels was a participant when the offences were committed. The ban of six years will act as a strong deterrent to any participant who intends to break the rules.”

How does that affect the price of salt fish in his retirement?

Principle of justice I guess? Justice must be done and be seen to be done? The legal folks here can weigh in.

Also, how come we don't ban politicians for taking money?

Marlon, if you read this,

Please keep your head high and do not respond.

They cannot prevent you from assisting with cricket development in your country.
Continue to mentor and sponsor your youth.
Do not stoop low enough to respond to any reported or create any social media post.
This too will pass, as soon as the next big headline hits.

They cannot take away your two World Cup Match winning performances.
We know they are trying to bring down West indies further.

Samuel is dead as far as West Indies cricket is concerned and therefore a sis year ban on him just confirms the small boy small country mentality of the ICC.
Now talking about ICC and corruption I am wondering if they Michael Holding report on how alleged then Vice President of West Indies cricket, was able to use his position to funnel over a million dollars to Dominica cricket in an alleged CBI passport deal . Did ICC ever investigate this matter? Are they only there to squeeze the balls of small name players but give free access to corruption when the big boys are involved?
