Fairbairn's daughter got out and ran away. She was not injured.

Her father was shot multiple times, and Paria was shot in the head.

Children's Authority CEO: Stop abusing, killing children

"Today, with great sadness, we mourn the loss of yet another child due to senseless gun violence on our nation's streets," Cyrus said.
Cyris said once again, the authority was appealing for an end to crime and gun violence, which are affecting communities and threatening the lives and safety of the country's children. On the issue of child abuse, Cyrus said in January, the authority received 560 reports of children in need of care and protection. He said this figure is greater than the average number of monthly reports received in 2023.

A statement from the organistion referred to the tragedy as a heart-wrenching reminder of the escalating violence in communities.
"This devastating event, coupled with the recent indiscriminate shooting in front of a primary school in Port of Spain that exposed children to unimaginable trauma, underscores a deeply concerning trend: the diminishing value for the most innocent among us," the statement said.

"It is clear that the current deterrents are insufficient. We need laws that reflect the severity of these crimes and their impact on our society, especially our most vulnerable members.
The time for action is now. We cannot allow the lives of our children to be threatened by senseless violence."

Boy, 4, grazed with bullet in Petit Valley

A four-year-old boy from Petit Valley was grazed on his hand by a bullet as he was caught in the middle of a long-standing dispute between his uncle and a neighbour that bubbled over yesterday morning.
According to reports, around 6 am, 50-year-old Tyrell Goodridge, of Stoer Drive, Petit Valley, was walking near his home with his nephew Nicholas Thomas in his arms when he had an argument with his next-door neighbour.

Goodridge and his nephew left to walk through a track and when they were on their way back to their home, they were confronted by the neighbour, who fired three gunshots in their direction.
Goodridge was shot in his hand and his buttocks, while his nephew, the pupil of a pre-school in the community, was grazed on the palm of his left hand.
Both relatives were taken to the St James Medical Complex for treatment for their injuries, which were classified as non-life threatening.

The meeting was centred around funeral plans for a man who had recently passed away from cancer.
When the discussion ended and the group dispersed, two gunmen approached Sifontes, who lived not far away at Derrick Murray Drive, and opened fire on him. He attempted to run away from his attackers but collapsed a short distance away.

Debe businessman escapes kidnappers

Bleeding from his hands and feet, where he was hog-tied with straps and a severed seatbelt, kidnap victim Arshad Mohammed screamed for help as he sat under a coconut tree, fervently praying he would not die.
His screams alerted a goat farmer who came to his rescue and saved him as the kidnappers attempted to negotiate a $500,000 ransom.
Speaking to Guardian Media, Arshad said he was thankful to the farmers of Basta Hall, Couva, who saved his life, saying if they had not intervened, he could have been dead. Recalling the horrific ordeal, Mohammed said he went to drop his mother, Annie Mohammed, in their garden at Rahamut Trace, Woodland, when two men with guns tied him up and threw him in the back seat of his Nissan X-Trail.

Mohammed said his face was concealed, and as the men drove off with him, they beat him mercilessly on his head while asking him personal questions.
Mohammed said he was surprised that the men knew so much about him and his family’s agricultural business.

Meanwhile, his father, Ashmir Mohammed, who owns several bars, said he did not plan to stay in T&T.
“We work so hard, we employ 50 people. Sometimes we work 16 hours a day. We are so hurt and traumatised by this. The way we are living in Trinidad is like we are living in a prison,” he said.
“My whole intention now is to get my family out of this country; if we are not happy, we cannot stay here. We cannot even carry on our business as we want to.”

The business people are leaving...sigh

A sad situation. Glad this man was able to get help quickly.

But, it would have been better if the Father did not disclose his future plans. He will now be a target too.

Our Society Is Suffering From A Disease Of The Head. Cure It By Fixing Those At The Head.
It's Obvious to me that Keith was ill treated as a youngster, and that's why he turned out to be such a monster. (His inauguration speech says so much, but no one reads between the lines anymore.)

These bandits were probably treated like that by their parents or teachers as "kids".
“They were asking me questions and if I took too long to answer, they would hit me on the top of my head,” he recalled.
