'It’s wrong according to my policy': Ashwin FINALLY opens up on Narine's disputed bowling action

Sunil Narine has been pulled up multiple times due to suspected bowling action. He was even barred from bowling off-spinners in IPL 2015.

It is wrong according to my policy… or is it lil jealousy.

Probably. I don’t think Ashvin feels totally appreciated by the Indian cricket establishment. Dropped for two WTC finals, wrongly I might add. Only played one match in the 2023 World Cup, again wrongly in my opinion. He’s just acting out.

I wonder what's his his opinion on Bumrah's action?

I spoke to Michael Holding about Bumrah. He told me there’s nothing wrong with his action. He said his action is weird, but it’s legal. By the way, Michael Holding chaired the ICC committee that re-wrote the rules around 2000.

i still have my doubts.....especially his bouncer, but i am aware that certain fast bowling actions can create an optical illusion. some english players, including tony greig and one or two countyumpires thought andy roberts chucked his quicker bouncer, but recanted when shown slow motion replays

Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.

Many bedside Ashwin believe that Narine's action is suspect.
As long as Narine can feed his family, I support him.
We need to support out fellow countrymen more despite our personal opinions.

I believe that Narine pelts.
I believe that Forde pelts.
I believe that Braffit pelts.
Just to mention a few from my head.
I support them all.

I believe that Bumrah and many others pelt.
I do not support them.
I support Windies and Ozz players.

Ashwin is a great cricketer in my opinion but he certainly is coming across as a bitter person here. Ashwin and Narine competes within the same cricketing space and league at the moment. Narine is killing it this season way beyond anyone's expectation and Ashwin is seen as a washed up cricketer who might have passed his sell by date (based on Indian talent pool) in the grand scheme of Indian cricket.

No one is jealous of Ashwin - he should have kept is opinion to himself and not spew crap like that. It certainly diminished his achievements in my opinion.

If Narine is of questionable bowling action - ICC and IPL should have dealt with it, and they did. Narine was cleared to play by these bodies and the man is on the MVP leader board.

The verdict on Ashwin's response (jealousy) is now open game and I am sure will have varying take aways. Laughable is surely one of them.

Karma.

Ashwin will go down as one of the games greatest spinners, he's not jealous

Narine will always have an asterisk to his legacy

his action doesn't look clean and doesn't have any bodily abnormalities like murali or ahktar so he doesn't get that pass

he has failed multiple times, but is league cricket and I really don't care, he found a way to make a living and is doing so

Name one major ICC final Ravichandran Ashvin has been a part of in the last 5 years. India has been in three finals in that period by the way
