A Rural bus driver died today

He nearly killed 18 others but thankfully he only killed himself. He did injure 13, a few seriously.
His last act in the early morning before losing control was trying to answer his phone. The bus ended up in a tree trunk upside down.
Fools die for want of wisdom.

Two Fridays ago, I was a passenger in a car driving towards Hope Rd on Waterloo Ave. As we approached Devon House I saw cars slowing down to allow two cars to turn into the popular location. Simultaneously I heard a motor bike guy behind us blowing his horn like it was a new Christmas toy. I turned to my brethren and said watch out for the crash.
Jackass on the motorbike believes his horn is a road signal and drove straight into the turning car. My brethren wanted to know how I knew there would be a crash. I have lived in dat neighbourhood fi three decades.
First the good news - jackass was not hurt - bike was bent but there was too much traffic for speed.
I cussed di idiot and told him they should take him off the road because his horn means nothing to anyone. I suggested that he buy a road code book.
Ignorance is anything but bliss.

My brethren asked me this very interesting loaded question about 22 years ago:

"In a country of 2.5 M people how come yuh hardly see anyone driving with 'L' or learner cards on their cars?"

I don't know what changes the laws regarding learner drivers and driving instructors introduced about 6-7 years ago.

This reminds me of an accident I was involved in Jamaica in the 90's . I had just picked up a rental filled the tank ,and drove towards the Caledonia Mall in Mandeville .I indicated to turn right well in advance of turning, but that wasn't enough for a stupid biker who decided to try to overtake me while I was turning. He was lucky not to have sustained any serious injuries.
