Shamar pace is down and he looks unfit/unwell
In reply to allan
Since Australia I don't think he played any first call cricket
That just can't work if you are an international sportsman
Unfit, short of practice & possibly even carrying an illness such as Motie, who withdrew from the playing XI on the morning of the game.
The drop off in pace is significant. Shamar Joseph was called a fast medium bowler beforehand but that was soon changed, when he consistently passed 90mph / 145kph down under. It is a great shame for the West Indies especially but also, for the cricket lovers watching the series. He is not right. It was evident from the start of his first spell at Lords and continues to be a major factor.
Just a week after the conclusion of the third and final test at Edgebaston, West Indies take the field for the first of two tests against South Africa at QPO, Port-of-Spain. That is another back-to-back test series with the second and final match at Providence, Guyana following hot on the heels of the opening test in Trinidad. Basically, apart from one week between the Edgebaston test and the Port-of-Spain test, the West Indies are playing five back-to-back test matches. That is a demanding schedule for players who are fit. So for Shamar, it will be very difficult. Getting the miles in the legs is an age old way to get fitter and stronger for quicks, tried and tested regardless of the modern methods. Perhaps, his pace will return in the next few weeks, one seriously hopes so...it is needed.
Stick a fork brigade will be all over him shortly
I guess Anderson Phillip or Roach will be back in the team for the South Africa series. However T20 cricket could disrupt a young player's form, it is a different type of bowling that is needed for that type of cricket.

He still carries that infectious smile though and is always ready for an on-camera interview.
We just have to get used to it.
