The worst captain you can imagine

Hope is

i wouldn't say that but his bowling changes and resource use have been less than optimal these last 2 games

Poor captaincy indeed... 8 overs of spin up his sleeve yet he bowling the pacers.
Sowter should have bowled all 4 earlier... can't bowl a rookie at that stage. Woulda been better off bowling Motie.
Sinclair didn't bowl... Mooen and Motie had two each.
Congrats to TKR though.. they battled on the glue patch!
On a side note, they need to ban matches from that ground until they fix that glue patch.
Poor captaincy 2 games in a row.
Sowter should have bowled his 4 earlier. This is the 2nd game Motie has bowled 2 overs. How can Moeen bowl 2 over 5 runs and 1 wicket and not get at least a 3rd over. It is like Hope has no confidence in his spinners or he don't know how to use spinners.
What it with GAW opening with random ppl like Motie, Khan and Sinclair.
Lol. Ball was clearly very damp. Best chance to bowl spinners was during that period when Pollard and Pooran were batting but with 2 left and right handed big hitters that would have been high risk..... and ultimately pacers took both wickets cheaply so option to use pace was well justified.
Bottom line is that 148 against TKR's powerful batting line up was near impossible to defend. Hope did a good job to get them that close.
Losing captain Shai Hope: I don't like to pinpoint the toss, but always good to chase here. We set ourselves a few runs short with the bat but commendable to take the game to the last over. (Shepherd's batting) When he's striking it well, he's tough to stop. Without his innings, we'd have been way too short. He's been out for a few games, hopefully he can bowl next time. (Bowling effort) We really fought well. Just crucial moments of the game. Don't want to pinpoint fielding and bowling effort. We had a missed chance but that's cricket. We need to fight like this. This is always a big, big, big match, always a great game coming to play here."

Motie and Ali combined bowled 4 overs for 21 runs. Rotating your bowlers and having Keemo Paul bowling the 18th and 20th certainly was not the answer.
The game against Barbados, Motie did not come on until after the 10th over and only bowled 2 overs, GAW were bowling first. The rationale then was probably the negative match up against the left hander or having Motie bowl in the middle.
Hope's captaincy in the last 2 games was not great. He could have done better.

That's the best excuse you could come up with? Ball damp? Twist it and turn it all you want it's poor captaincy two matches in a row.
- Sowter should have bowled all 4 in a row.
- At the fall of Pollard wicket, he should have brought on Mooen.
- When Pooran got out Motie should have gotten the ball.
#3 ranked T20 bowler in the world not bowling his full allotment two matches in a row? Something definitely wrong.
It was simple, Sinclair lose the game, ungrateful muddies , never take responsibly for their failures.

I do not understand the logics of some trying to cover up Hope's poor captaincy, if Moti can't bowl against left handers at dome point in the I can understand that, but if also can't bowl against right handers what is the point playing him, when Ali was brought back the 2nd time he should have bowled two overs

Pretty bad overall from Warriors last 2 games, if Hope alone is calling the shots he obviously sucks at captaincy. One more game like this and we can safely say they are not gonna retain the Championship

The game was very tight, Hope made all the right moves defending a small total of 148, you cannot bowl spin to Russell at this time. In a close game like this you have to hold every catch that comes your way period. it was a simple game to read.
My only complaint is he should have bowled Mooen instead of Sowter in the 17th over I think.
The game was lost there

I said the same thing!

ent hopeless was the same dude who was cappo last year when we failed to qualify for the cwc? mind you big jase was even worse and was just fortunate samuels, who played with an injured back and gayle came to help them out. holder is the most tactically inept captain i have ever seen. he makes richardson, the second worst look like viv, the best captain tactically in the professional era
In reply to tc1
U think so? Boy our standards have really dropped
In reply to Jumpstart
It simple the game was lost with the dropped catch; Hope made all the right move in a game that you have to defend 148.
You cannot bowl spinners to Dre Russell in the late stages of the game he will mis hit for sixes.
Typical of you to said that Jase was the worse captain, I know you believe Pooran and Pullard were great captains.

Dude 148 is not a bad score on this pitch where the par score is 155. They won with 4 deliveries to spare so an additional 7 runs would not have made a difference with Paul bowling overs 18 and 20.
Paul was going for 14 runs and over so far in the series before this match.
In reply to Kay
'Dude 'are you in the sixty girl, How did he bowled prior to giving up those 2 sixes? the game was lost when your hommie dropped the catch period.
Bowling before the 18th over is not the same as bowling at the death 50 girl, but you wouldn't have a clue about that
In reply to tc1
You still with that nonsense?
De point everybody is making is that Hope is not utilizing his bowlers properly... which part of that you don't understand?
Or yuh lack basic understanding?
He had a bunch of opportunities to bring back Motie and Mooen earlier and he did not..
Some of yall just gotta find some way to defend your homies
In reply to anthonyp
Bring back a spinner to bowl against Dre, the game was lost due to the dropped period. Hope made all the right moves in defending a small total.
In regard to defending hommies, you have not even mentioned the impact of the dropped catch or John Paul last over.
Green want that title.

Trump like.

Right moves and your two best bowlers left with two overs remaining each.
Genius moves yes... bajan logics.
Nobody in their righted mind would be bowling Keemo for 4 in any T20 these days. The dude is a runs truck.
Dre Russ fluke and hit a unknown rookie for couple sixes and all of a sudden yall think he's world class against spin at the death?
Then again... can't expect you to get it because yall world class captains are Kraigg and Holder....
The homerism on this thread is hilarious
Bajans defending Hope to the hilt
Guyanese not having it
Lololol!
In reply to anthonyp
The fast bowlers were doing well, that's why he stuck with them...maybe he felt Pooran may attack the spinners, thus kept him in check with pace. Like I said, the only issue I have is Mooen should have bowled instead of Powter
In reply to ray
The spinners were doing well too... they started it.
Why would you choose Mooen ahead of Motie when there's two power hitting right hander at the crease? It's easier for a right hander to hit the ball spinning into them at that stage.
Mooen should have been bowling when Pooran was at the crease... at the fall of Pollard wicket. Sowter should have bowl out and reintroduce Mooen into the attack. Spin from one end and pace from the other.

Only 1 Bajan defending Hopey, to be funny Hope gets blame and (he) did not bowl, dropped the game or bowl shoite in the last over.
Typical Trini like to see fighting between cousins.
How did big hitter Dre Russ do against spin tonight?
De man catch a rookie and took advantage and all of a sudden peeps think he's world class against spin
