smile I call Cornwall One-Speed. He could not accelerate even if he tried. By the way, Gayle once claimed that he was the fastest runner on the WI team in terms of foot speed - not to be confused with running between the wickets smile

Big difference between Big Corn and Chris Gayle 'running' between the wickets issues.

Big Corn ran (or walked) himself out. Chris Gayle on the other hand actually ran out the up-and-coming Shai Hope, resulting in the latter's unforgettable gesticulation(s) of disrespect.

No guys, Chris did claim he was the fastest in the squad full stop.
And guess what? A Guyanese friend out here went on a trip to Fla. and met Shiv who told him two things about Crampy.
1. On the tour of NZ about ‘09 the team had a 100m race and Gayle came 1st!
2. As non-striker when partnering Gayle stay alert because he hits it so hard if it comes at you it could kill you.
At least one video of a Gayle innings you’ll see him press Devin Smith to run three and others for “twosie’. He just knew his heart condition wouldn’t let him do that throughout an innings so never bothered. Wasn’t named Crampy fih nutt’n

Next we’ll be hearing that Gayle would have been Olympic 100 metre champion were it not for his decision to opt for cricket big grin

Stop being silly, you think Gayle never ran many of his test runs fast? You think Shiv just gonna lie? One thing I am sure about the man who told of his convo with Shiv has never would never lie about that or anything else that I am aware of.

I don't remember a runout. But I clearly remember Hope being furious about Gayle not running easy singles. And yes, I thought it was disrespectful at the time.

Blackwood obviously was not in the team at the time of that 100 m race. Blackwood is easily the fastest runner to wear the maroon in the last 20 years.

Blackwood debuted in the home series vs NZ one test before JHO (After the away series) Russell debuted under Sammy.
