Steupes. Justin Greaves was one of the 2 best bats in Bim for a long time.

And Bim selectors had him more as a bowling allrounder. Don’t understand how they couldn’t encourage his development as a batsman. Maybe they all related to my brother openning cool

Glad he’s gotten the opportunity with Leewards.

Bajans are allowing too many players to slip away:

Chris Jordan, Jofra Archer, Phil Salt, Jacob Bethell and now Justin Greaves....

There's plenty of decent players. We have no issue lending you Greaves once he doesn't score against us lol

Barbados are operating in the 'Big Brother club Zone'

Too many friendship picks.

A short list of overlooked players excluding those mentioned above: -
Raymond Reifer (a few years ago)
Mayers (a few tears ago)
Shamar Springer
Many youths who resorted to Academy or CCC squads.

While they selected pure jokers even well beyond their use-by date: -
Kevin Stoute (Lara picked through Brung). Most Bajans know about dis.
Nurse.
Carter.
Braffit in 50 Overs ( who was also trying to get in T20) lucking the franchise system stopped it.

I can go on forever, but I will stop.

If Bim select a squad based on performance,
They would be hard to beat.

I thought he was a batsman who bowls a little since he made a double ton at the regional tournament u16.but in a interview he described himself as a bowling all rounder.

Tell me you didn’t just bestow on yet another player, the VOR stamp of approval.

We all know how this ends in most cases.

Leeward Hurricanes need to give him a multi-year contract and add a bonus incentive for runs vs Barbados.

Greaves has not slipped away, as long as he is playing in the West Indies for West Indian Territory and Ultimately the West Indies, he has not slipped away, his success underscores and confirms the need for full movement of players

I had a conversation with a friend and I asked him, Why are Barbados players being contracted throughout the region?
He responded that they were Bajans.

Every team this year CPL, had a contracted Barbadian cricketer, what surprised me was the youth that opened for TRF.

The aim is to expose as many players as possible to highest quality cricket available, we have a lot of good fringe players to chose from but cannot select all, even if they don't play for Barbados, they are still playing cricket.
Let's be real if Greaves wasn't on hurricanes roster he would not be in the west indies team today scoring that hundred
Matthew Forde is playing for the west indies but never represented bim

My beef with the BCA is the promotion and demotion and the Elite division.
Maple suffered the most with the intro of the Elite and 1st division, we just don't have the population or professional clubs to have so many divisions.
They are 15-20 contracted Pride players, where are the coaches for the other 1000 players throughout the Island?
U19 players have to find jobs after leaving school, can these players get the coaching in order to compete on the international stage?

Let me ask you something why is Greaves on the fringe to begin with? You have an abundance of quality players in Barbados for him to be considered fringe? Who are these quality players?

Answer.

There is an unwritten or written rule that the administrators must be pass cricketers.

That killed Windies cricket with hiring coaches.

That is killing Bim cricket because cricket knowledge does not equate to business management skills.

Many of the people making business decisions are IDIOTS.

If the clubs were all professional, would you be saying the above?
A young Jacob Bethell was a paid professional since he left Bim, how many of his local peers can say the same?

Promotion and demotion has been a failure, same thing with the stupid decision for an elite division what is needed is a semi pro league with a professional coaching structure then a feeder system from u19 other we will continue to lose players to England..
players must be able to make a living playing just cricket
But what do I know
We like the other islands keep shooting ourselves in the foot

A fast bowler with a beautiful smooth run-up and action, Simmons represented Barbados Under-15s and first came to prominence by claiming all 10 wickets in an innings while playing for the Franklyn Stephenson Academy. He finished with the remarkable figures of 10 for 16 from 5.3 overs. He joined Warwickshire as a 17-year-old in 2021, and made his first-class debut three years later, claiming three wickets in his maiden spell against Essex at Chelmsford.

And soon Che Simmons ,remember that name.

We have to be real, Greaves will always be ask to make way for holder and any player who represents the west indies, a player with international experience will always be preferred. this would.make it hard for a player like Greaves to string together a decent season of continuous matches to develop his game given the short seasons we have
But with the option of free movement of players look at him now
He is shining in the leewards set up, kudos to the hurricane set up for maturing him
