A federal judge in California ended Hunter Biden’s criminal tax case on Tuesday after criticizing President Joe Biden’s summation of the case − noting his son's admission that he continued to evade taxes "well after" becoming sober while spending on luxury clothes and escorts.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi wrote the president has broad authority to grant clemency "but nowhere does the Constitution give the President the authority to rewrite history."

These guys are surprising me, had I not known better I would have believed Biden is their uncle.

I haven't seen anything like this before, they are hurting badly and their hatred for Trump mean they see Biden as a saint or god like figure.

Look, I dislike Trump passionately, and some of the misfits around him, but he was elected fairly by a wide cross section of society. So I am just watching and see how this goes.

Biden and the Dems are no saints, they are all politicians and all corrupt alike, but they are acting like Biden was some poor man's warrior.

Boy I hated that mofo up to weeks ago, and it's the constant bitching about him that made me listen to the man and some of what he said made REAL sense to a REALIST like myself .

Sounds like an excuse for having no backbone, nor moral, nor ethical compass to me. Your most fundamental error is that you are focusing on the the behaviour of his detractors rather than the laundry list of racist, criminal, unethical, immoral, dishonest things about your new hero, which is at best immature. You're the one coming across as 'sorf'. You just jumped on the side of the winner. The funny part is that you're using Gaza as one of your props....when the same 'hero' has said that Israel must finish the job fast.

That's what happens when you don't stand on principle.

He got it right.

Politicians get away with corruption and other stuff because we don't hold them accountable. In Biden's case, folks are contrasting him with Trump instead of looking at it from neutral-civic-minded eyes. They will say, look what Trump did or say he is going to do, therefore Biden is given a pass.

They can't seem to separate the issues, the people and or have the ability to criticize both at the same time.

The election has hurt these hard back men real bad.

I'm going to agree with the judge that Hunter should never have been pardoned.

Afterall, he defiled the Whitehouse by hiding his stash of cocaine somewhere in the crevices of the walls. And that's not anywhere as bad as applying for gun ownership license while being a felon. And the laptop thing, we won't even go there.

Bro, the tax evasion part was the most for me, do you know how many small Joes have been harassed and had to pay fines for missing a few dollars on taxes? Hunter owed a few million and he told the judge that during the time of his tax evasion, he was sober.

Biden's pardon was any for any and all crimes from 2014 up to December 1 2024. Not for the gun charge alone.

Look, if we look at this without the "look what Trump has done, lens, we'll all see it was wrong.

We can criticize Biden for his sins and we can criticize Trump for his sins and crimes all at the same time.

This (indirect) comparison between Hunter and Trump reminds me of the "Grab them by the Pu$$y" episode where Billy Bush, the interviewer, ended up losing his broadcasting career, while Trump, the interviewee who made the infamous remark, went on to be elected President. Twice.

Wonder what the judge said when Trump pardoned his father in law for a crime which Christie has publicly stated, was the most despicable crime he has ever prosecuted. Now fresh from his pardon same father in law is now ambassador to France. It perhaps made no difference to this judge that this case would never have reached his courtroom if it was another defendant and only got to him when the prosecutor, appointed by Trump came under pressure from Republicans after years of investigations which yielded nothing. He may have even ignored the fact that Hunter has paid up the taxes for which he is being prosecuted.
