You can't blame coaches for 30 years. This is not a coaching problem. This is a cricketing talent problem. The job of an international coach isnt to learn a grown men how to bat, that is primary school stuff. These fellas aren't test quality batsmen to begin with. The job of an international coach is to iron out technical flaws that have crept in. Many of these just shouldn't even be in test cricket. None of them would on merit even make an English county team.

They job is to
Mentor and develop talent
Tell me one case where the current batting coach and apparatus did that ?
We have had talented batters during that period
- post Lara and Shiv
Darren Bravo, Athaneze, Mayers, Blackwood etc

The only one with talent is was Bravo. Blackwood played almost 60 test and failed.

What do you think is the difference between today’s players and players of the WI dominant era? Do you really believe coaching is the difference?

The dominant era was about professionalism, and there was no difference between players representing ManU and Arenal.
Viv Richards not only played county and international cricket, but he also had guys bowling to him in Antigua.
Gordan Greenidge, had people he trusted, spot his errors during practice, I remember a phone call I received, the first time my mentor had to look at GG during sessions, which he set up, for the people he trusted.
There is a story about Seymour Nurse, preparing for Australia, he had a group bowling to him, from Sunrise to Sunset, daily.
Bobby Simpson summarised it in a book by saying. that he felt sorry for Seymour as he Walked to the wicket, but as the inning progressed he felt sorrier for his bowlers.
Preparation is the key.
One of my closest friends returned to Antigua in 2000 and stayed away from cricket, he believed the people involved in the game are in it for themselves, not to develop talent, he also said, that Kraigg Brathwaite's coach should be fired, Kraigg was legside dominant, his strength has been taken away, leaving him to block balls.
This year was 2002 and I am yet to hear anyone in Bim, speak about it.

Couldn't agree with you more kind Sir. The moment of truth arrives when one gets to the middle and is all alone to make decisions and execute. No amount of coaching is going to save you without talent and temperament.
