Does coaching make a difference. Discuss?

Of course it does
A coach is a teacher
A good teacher knows how to tweak their methods to reach as many pupils as possible

Fundamentally it does I suppose. Rohan Kanhai was good for the youngsters…people like Jimmy Adams swears by this

Had to ask, as this side couldn't win a match last time out I think.

Coaching makes a difference to those who don’t think they are Gary Sobers and are willing to learn at any level.

The best coaching takes place early - kids need to learn basic motor skills and technique. That makes it easy for coaches of professional sports. You will never learn basics as an adult.

In reply to ChrissySo we would therefore need our "Coaches" at the senior level to be "Agile" and have multiple skillsets. Seems to require more tactical planning and execution at the highest level.

Absolutely right.....

The greatest of batters...
Root, was just down and out....in come Mccullum...his performance skyrocket...

Kohli...India won world cup, was on path to test championship finals...in come Gambhir, two tests against Bangladesh three against N.Z., 5 against Australia....10 tests...hit rock bottom....

Coaching not only at grass roots but throughout...
Cricket like any other profession.... dynamic in nature.... requires a player always to reinvent and reboot.... technically and mentally....
