Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino announced that after his meeting Rubio, his government will not renew its 2017 memorandum with China on the “Belt and Road Initiative.” He also stated that Panama will seek to terminate its agreements with the Chinese government ahead of their scheduled end dates in 2027 and 2028.
“One important thing, which is a decision I made and communicated to you, is that the 2017 MoU on the Silk Road, the Bell and Road Initiative, will not be renewed by my government. That is the case,” Mulino said according to a translation of his remarks. “We are going to study the possibility of whether it can be finished earlier

A lot of what has been going on has been about the heat America is feeling from China and Trump's promise of tax cuts for the rich. The Trump's administration just dressed it up to make it look like something else

It would seem like you comment on issues you don't understand - a la tax cuts for the rich. That's is unless you're a Socialist.

Wait and see the immeasurable benefits that will redound to all Americans.

We'll catch that 'cold' as well

I'll give everyone of you shithead dotards an opportunity to explain how the Dotard will reduce the U.S. trade deficit with the imposition of tariffs while maintaining a high U.S. dollar.

Since the time of Reagan they have been bombarded with right wing capitalist propaganda that the ultra wealthy class are job creators who deserve our admiration and worship.

It was the linchpin of trickle down economics.

and yet during and after the great depression, evidence shows that the middle class was created if not grown from an increase of taxes on the rich and fair paying union jobs.

Well, the new ultra wealthy American oligarchs are no longer content with tax cuts. They now want (and have gotten) the whole kit and caboodle.

They have bought the presidency and now have the keys to the treasury and every aspect of government. In that respect, they are actually better off than Putin's oligarchs.

Some people are just stupid and should be told they are. Caribbean farmers are still catching "the cowl" from Reagan's liberalization with no -existent banana farms and carrots rotting in fields while merchants import carrots and market it at 1/2 the price of local carrots. They have put all the right words in your mouth, like "socialists", so you regurgitate at will.

Here are some uncomfortable truths, real facts, not the alternative ones your type like to peddle in:

American ‘oligarchy’ decried by Biden gained $1.5 trillion in his term.

The very richest Americans are among the biggest winners from President Joe Biden’s time in office, despite his farewell address warning of an “oligarchy” and a “tech industrial complex” that threaten U.S. democracy.

The 100 wealthiest Americans got more than $1.5 trillion richer in the past four years, with tech tycoons including Elon Musk, Larry Ellison and Mark Zuckerberg leading the way, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The top 0.1% gained more than $6 trillion, Federal Reserve estimates through September show.

U.S. Billionaires Got $1 Trillion Richer During Trump’s Term

The nation's 644 billionaires have enjoyed a staggering rise in wealth since the pandemic shuttered the economy in March, with the group gaining almost $1 trillion in total net worth, according to a new analysis. The spike in wealth coincides with what some economists are calling a K-shaped recovery, with the rich regaining their footing while poorer Americans struggle with lost wages and jobs.

The wealth of the nation's billionaires rose to $3.88 trillion as of October 13, a jump of $931 billion from March, an analysis from Americans for Tax Fairness and the Institute for Policy Studies, two left-leaning groups, found. That's almost twice the $2.1 trillion in wealth held by the bottom half of the U.S. population, or about 165 million people, they added.

The world’s 10 richest men made $64 billion from Trump’s victory

November 5, 2024 wasn't just a good day for President-elect Donald Trump — it was also a big win for the world's wealthiest men, according to a new report.

CNN reported Thursday that in the immediate aftermath of the election, the net worths of the 10 richest billionaires in the world skyrocketed. The Bloomberg Billionaire Index, which tracks the growth and contraction in net worth of the super-rich in real time, showed that there was a $64 billion jump in the collective wealth of centabillionaires at the top of the list.

The biggest financial boon of the night went to Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk — who also owns X (formerly Twitter) — with the Bloomberg Billionaires Index pegging the Trump megadonors net worth at $290 billion. That's a $26.5 billion jump from before the election. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos saw his total wealth climb by more than $7.1 billion following the decision. And Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison (who backed Trump) saw his net worth grow by more than $5.5 billion on Wednesday.

BTW, by how much did your wealth go up? How much are you paying for eggs these days? Remember he promised you cost would go down from Day 1, now, wait for it, your Messiah said you have to endure some pain.

MAGAtts like you are suckers for pain. Now, take your licks.

Well played by Panama. By the time 2027/2028 comes around Trump will have forgotten about the Panama canal and renewal of the deal with China will happen under the radar smile

And wasn't Trump complaining about the high Panama Canal transit fees being charged to American ships? Were those fees reduced?
