Thou shalt not criticize the sacred calf
Drop him to the US team.
He’s not showing any dominance for an international.
We need to find an aggressive opener.
In reply to Raskil
Nuh fret. John Campbell is yuh bet
In reply to imusic
Too slow
We need another R Freddo
In reply to Raskil
Shotgun Williams?
Clayton Lambert
Philo Wallace?
In reply to Raskil
Raskil…… who would you say is the most aggressive WI opener of all time?
My vote would be Gayle closely followed by Freddo
In reply to imusic
Kraigg Brathwaite.

I’ll rate Roy Fredericks because of the opposition bowlers at the time and most importantly NO Helmet.
In reply to Raskil
Hmmm…..I understand the no helmet thing….but is not like they had a choice in those days and he declined. That’s just how it was.
Also…….he may have been more aggressive precisely because there was no helmet.
As for the opposition bowlers……yes Freddo did face Lillee and Thommo at their peak in Oz
But Gayle also faced Shoaib, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Alan Donald, Brett Lee all in their prime too. I would actually give him the edge there.
And how could I forget Devon Malcolm too!

The GOAT is exempt from these conversations. It just goes without saying

CLose call between Freddo and Gayle...maybe a tie
In reply to imusic
Well don’t forget Adrian Barath
Brett, Shoab, Waqar, Allan…
Chris Gayle faced all those guys however did he face the brutal West Indian pace bowlers in first class cricket. I understand you play according to the state of the game at the time…
Don’t forget the limited bouncers rule.
Almost every Caribbean playing nation could’ve gone it alone and still be world beaters.
In reply to Raskil
Excellent point!
Freddo and Onry
In reply to WI_cricfan
He played well in the first game… watch him bounce back in game 3.
In reply to ray
Freddo could be slow at times. I would go with Philo or Lambert ahead of him. I never seen those two slow.
When Gayle presses the accelator..nothing like him.
Basil williams, Ron Faria were pretty aggressive.
Haynes was at the start of his career but then did 180 degree switch
That spell when Lambert and Wallace were smashing England all around the park was fantastic and great fun hearing the complaining English saying "that's not test cricket" different now though with their Bazwazwhack-a-ball isn't it?
Shoe is on the other foot...

True talk. Dessie was a shotta early in his WI career. Then maybe someone had a word with him that he heeded
In reply to WI_cricfan
Unless nothing, he should be gone
Spare a thought for This Great
Gear switching is necessary. Do we have a top three to bat a situation like this?
In reply to 4REALQUICKS
What would WI give for a Lambert & Wallace batting combo at the top of their batting order right now?
Remember the days when WI chastised them for not being Greenidge & Haynes? For being Cowlashers?
