Can anyone speak to how points are allocated? I am referring to the points for other batting, bowling etc.
Take for example, the three top teams have won both matches so far and TT have won both their games by innings victory, yet TT is placed third with a couple points below the top two. And in both matches, their first and only innings they batted they amassed higher scores than both team above them.
Seems strange.

We better stop winning matches by an innings because there seems to be a flaw in that system, seems stupid to me.I do feel some teams may like it because it keeps TT in 3rd place.
I remember the introduction of the points system.
The pacers points was designed to encourage the teams to play pacers,
this was cause the spinners were taking all of the wickets.
This obviously has not worked.
As long as we prepare spinners' wickets, what do they expect.
At least they are trying.
The 50 overs points system was also designed to improve team performances in the tournament.
I cannot fault CWI for taking steps to improve the tournaments.
Especially as they fail miserably in governance and most leadership matters.

Batting twice does not provide any additional points to a team. It only provides the opposing team the opportunity to gain fast bowling points

Good point.
This appears to be a flaw in the points system.

I agree.

I applaud CWI in their work toward progress.
There appears to be some backward thinking.
To improve fast bowling, one should prepare faster wickets.
Hindia did that a few years ago and improved their pacers performances.
Now they compete world class pacers.
