Would it be a bad thing if Brazil misses the WC? Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to take stock of yourself and make the necessary adjustments to begin the process of rebuilding.

brazil might still qualify for the wc...on their current trajectory though, they'll get another 7-1 though

Brazil still play football?shock
I don't know about you but I sure can't call that $hit they currently play as football. If you watching Brazilian football from way back when, there is absolutely no way you can sit through 3 minutes of a current Brazil game. No way.

If you recently started watching Brazilian football you would ask yourself, what is this rubbish why so much talk about Brazil. Maybe its time they get a break from the world cup

Didn't WI miss the last WC as well as the recent CT? As a former 2-time WC winner and CT winner, If this isn't rock bottom then I don't know what is.

There are parallels in what started the decline in WI cricket and Brazilian football but ironically in opposite direction. For WI it started with players not getting the opportunities in county cricket from since the 1990s while for Brazil it was when its footballers started embracing the European leagues .

Excellent point, local Brazilian football looks a lot like the MLS football in America. standards have slipped

But it has always been like that. Brazilian club football has always been this boring drudgery of a game. These Famous clubs like Santos, Corinthians and Flamengo did not excite and inspire when they played. Yet they have managed to produce some of the most electrifying international teams. Its when Brazil play international games then the skill, flamboyance is displayed.
Note i am not saying that Brazilian football does not have a huge following in Brazil or is not loved but an outsider watching Brazilian football will be disappointed as its not like what you would think.

Brazil needs defenders and a midfield general. That position is slated for Neymar who will be returning.

This defence too poor to retire a Thiago Silva...they need him back with some young sharp defenders.
