Guyana 38% Tariff ...Rest of Caricom 10%

The 10% tariff was the same levied on other Caricom countries. The exception was Guyana, which now faces a 38% tariff.

Trump stated that the tariffs are intended to "level the playing field" and combat what he called unfair trade practices by other countries while speaking from the White House Rose Garden.
The move may compel the Caricom nations to look for alternative trade routes. The tariff will mean higher costs for consumers, but note this may also open a door for trade with Canada.
