bravo is the only dude who not going to struggle. pooran and lewis only play whiteball cricket. fielding restrictions, a ball that doesn't swing as much........big part of your batting education missing. bonner is a concussion in waiting vs express pace, hetmeyer barely has the concentration for 50 over cricket, much less 90 overs in a day, where you may be required to bat throughout. There is one name missing from that list. Sherfane Rutherford has proven himself to be a very skillful customer. if he was interested, i would get him into the test set up asap

I don't think you listened to the podcast. It was about the options WI had if they i. invested in these players at the critical stage; ii. were more consistent in the selection policy and a few other what ifs. They compared to a current NZ test side which did those things and saw players who also are of the same generation and played against these guys in an A series. Essentially it spoke to wasted potential.

I don’t get them talking about wasted potential but then opt to talk about Bonner at 4.

Not even a mention of Shai Hope who is one of the best batters in the region

I was surprised he wasnt mentioned as well but my take away was that our challenge truly has been the inability to harness and develop the talent that exists. NZ has to an extent, even in the face of the T20 leagues, as have South Africa. However it was a good review. Another obvious omission was Jofra Archer

I’ve seen Rutherford a few times in odis,
I would be calling him night and day to play
Against Australia. Pooran the same.

King worth a go opening the batting for me.
He has a decent fc record.
