Why No Tariff Deals So Far with Ass Kisser Nations?

Walco 2025-04-15 10:53:24

I thought there were 70 countries lined up to kiss Trump's ass and do tariff deals smile

StumpCam 2025-04-15 11:59:34

According to the Treasury Secretary there will be bilateral trade agreements in the next 90 days, then they will work out the specifics later on. Per Bloomberg news!

In my book, if those guys are talking they are lying. The United States has massive trade surpluses with the vast majority of countries on the tariff list. So what will a bilateral tariff deal accomplish? An increase in the United States trade surplus with those countries?

Sounds like the chicken and egg story. My understanding is once agreements are signed it's a done deal with all the specifics included. But i have been wrong before ....

Congress will eventually rein in Trump, but unfortunately it will not be until after he has done irreparable harm to the US economy.

sgtdjones 2025-04-15 14:06:14

.....

Foreign Countries dont have too

To kiss his ass, American law firms are swarming up the road to the White House.

carl0002 2025-04-15 14:20:58

Because its just rumors of deals and lies being floated to Congress and his base to make them think that whatever the heck he is doing is working, to stave off a next revolt and to make other countries think that other countries are getting in on the game early so that they can rush in and make a so call deal. But what Trump don't realize that the countries that matter already gang up on the US to make that orange idiot stew in his s... . No 75 countries lining up to do any deals with the orange idiot. Yeah maybe Taiwan and El Salvador to get more kidnapped immigrants but the vast majority of who matters are not lining up and begging like Trump making it out to be. Even Canada dumping US T-bills so as Trump make deals with himself to zero out his own Tariffs, all that is left is spin and concocted wins without evidence.

Carney convinced the EU and Japan to do the same.

It's interesting that Trump mentioned the bond market as a motivating factor for phase 1 of his capitulation/pause the other day. The bond market will trigger phase 2 of his capitulation in 90 days also. Or maybe sooner.

Walco 2025-04-15 15:16:57

Which country will volunteer to be the first on the list of ass kissers? smile 70 countries are lined up, so we should expect an announcement any day now ...

Bond market selloff is the signal that things are about to get real as its the first in a chain reaction impacting every single economic indicator and the stability of the US dollar. So of course it would get his attention. PHASE II is Trump making delas with himself to Zero out his own Tariffs as Canada and as SnoopDog says EU and Japan wave those T-Bills in his face. And note, China hasn't entered the Bonds debacle - yet...but toying with the orange idiot as we speak.

Walco 2025-04-15 16:05:00

In reply to carl0002

Experts are predicting that the Chinese will resort to currency manipulation before selling T-Bills. I suppose that would be the nuclear option. But this trade war is puzzling. The ignoramus in chief is focussing on a goods trade deficit while ignoring the fact that the United States has a huge services trade surplus with almost every country in the world.

Walco 2025-04-15 16:06:58

In reply to XFactor

And that's an excellent strategy. But I assumed that the 70 countries are lining up to kiss my ass narrative was a lie from the beginning.

For an idiot that bankrupted 6 entities, he is showing lawyers and legal firms "the art of the deal". Pro bono representation.

They were the first to kiss his arse by showing how corrupt they are. The US Supreme Court heads the list....cool

carl0002 2025-04-15 19:48:31

Well yes that would make sense as China has significant exposure in the US bond market but you can only mess around with your own currency for so long and China already artificially keeps its currency low to boots its exports. There maybe not much room for sustained currency manipulation as China would have to keep devaluing its own currency.

According to the VP, a tariff deal with the UK will be announced soon. This one will be interesting because the US has a trade surplus with the UK. In other words, the US has been ripping off the UK for years smile

carl0002 2025-04-16 14:58:53

In reply to Walco

Remember that after Brexit UK was trying their hardest to get something going with the US in terms of trade as Brexit left them out in the cold. So this might be larger in scope than the current Tariffs. I guess we will see but it could also mean that UK Prime Minister is only letting orange idiot know that he has his Trump Crypto receipt so he can shut up now.

carl0002 2025-04-16 15:17:34

The other thing to note about all this Tariff talk, it is also a diversion from the diversion, as last week and this week the house has been trying to pass a CR budget with 3-4 trillion of tax cuts for the billionaires and to lift the debt ceiling for the length of the Trump administration and almost a trillion in cuts to social security, Medicaid etc. While Republicans lying to their constituents about not touching social security while messing with Social Security. So guess what's not being talked about in the media....
If you notice these tariffs are being constantly postponed, for a reason....while the GOP is doing their dirty work in the back ground, lying to their constituents- he wants to mask any GOP announcement on the budget with these Tariffs conversation. My guess is that the announcement of a deal with the UK or other deals will coincide with the passing of that CR in attempt to shift the conversation away from the CR.

And in a sense they are linked, as if the US continues to create distrust and uncertainty with its partners/allies there is no way they will be able to raise enough cash/sell enough bonds to fund those tax cuts.. then all hell will break loose?

Walco 2025-04-16 22:59:44

It would take a lot more than one month to negotiate a trade deal, unless talks started during the Biden administration. But whatever UK ass kissing deal is announced will likely be smoke and mirrors to be followed with details at a later date.

sgtdjones 2025-04-16 23:19:19

In reply to carl0002

It takes an average of 18 months to complete a trade agreement. The USMC took that long.

carl0002 2025-04-17 13:29:24

In reply to Walco

I think that is the point I was trying to make but completely messed it up that whatever they might be announcing with the British might have been something that was in the works a long time before given that since Brexit they been looking for some kind of favored trade status. But as you said, its more likely to be smoke and mirrors. And it would be interesting that the British would be the first out the gate cuz if you remember the Prime Minister pushed back real hard when Trump and Vance tried to hustle Zelensky at the Whitehouse.

I'm still waiting for a tariff deal with one of the many ass kissing nations smile

Walco 2025-05-09 10:14:54

The first ass-kisser nation has been identified and it is none other than the Starmer Isles smile But the deal has not been finalized and signed, and I'm wondering why the United States "needs" a trade deal with a country with which it has a trade surplus ...

In a month or two it will be time for the 'dump' phase and he'll do or say some stupid shit which will start the mass sell off once again.

Good luck to all you fellas who have your retirement dollars and life savings in the stock market casino.

To answer the question:

Why No Tariff Deals So Far with Ass Kisser Nations?

Well, the answer is not many can afford a $400million dollar jet, or $600 billion dollar investments...
The whole Tariff mess is a grand pay for play, illegal, criminal scam being propagated by Trump...to make money for himself.

Big clue, Trump DOJ announced as soon Beach Blonde Bondi arrived at the DOJ that they will not prosecute bribery..
