Bought this:

Madone

A really sweet bike that carves up Hills. Upgraded from a Trek Domane SL5.

My goal is 7000km on it for the year. I am at 2000km.so a bit behind, need to catch up.

Great bike...big price.

A Bike with racing specs just for leisure riding?

Sorry, but bike companies would go broke if I have anything to do with it.

They take advantage of the biking community.

Sorry. Thanks for sharing. But ughh....

Btw 7000k for the year is not leisure man
My single rides are on average 70k per ride.

If I had that type of disposable cash, I may very well be tempted too.

I loved the bike when they came out a couple years ago....it is distinct and very handsome with that signature top post.

Yeah, but you are not racing are you?

The benefit of these bikes is their aero nature which allows you to cover many km....as you put it....quickly and with minimal watts used....so if you are after a workout you could get a much cheaper bike and just work harder, shorter.

Indeed, indeed! I am an old man in my 60's so have some disposable cash...have invested well over the years .so that helps.

When we are young we sacrifice time for money, when we get older we use that money to buy time ..plus I love cycling.

Out in the countryside it's a very spiritual experience in that with the endorphins you get deep withing yourself to a very quiet, peaceful and happy place which for me is worth all the money in the world.

I do monitor my performance and try to go further with minimal effort. My top distance is 120k one ride, I need to do that with less effort so no that I can increase to 150..then 200km on a single ride. Maybe one day I will enter into the senior circuit.

It's good to stay active as you age and after retirement. For sure.

The western World would benefit immensely from a more pronounced biking culture.

I’ll stick with my $US900 Cannondale Quick CX circa 2019. Great for my recreational and fitness pursuits.
Wish I could do more riding as time permits!

Nothing wrong with that bike. I also have a Trek Marlin 6 mountain bike for about 12 yrs which I use for off road and it is still a great bike and cost only 1000.00

I just take it in for service once a yr and for in season maintenance I don that myself.

If u are short on time..off road is great. Better ROI in less time. I love off road early in the season to help with fitness.

To monitor your fitness get a Fitbit..apple or Garmin watch..
