Came across Youtuber Emunah doing readings from books written by Cedella Booker (Bob's mom), and Rita Marley. Learned that Bob was really first cousin to Cecil Marley. Remember in the 60s he was president of the JCB. Did he ever head the WICB? Anyway, Cecil's father, Robert, was a brother of Norval, Bob's father. Emunah did her research showing copies of birth, marriage and death certificates as support where necessary. Didn't know that Cedella was actually married to Norval (copy of marriage certificate shown). Very interesting; check it out.

At one point Cedella brought Norval before the courts for bigamy, because he had remarried without getting a divorce (case was covered by the Gleaner). The charge was thrown out because the court ruled that he was not competent to stand trial and who was Norval's lawyer, none other than his lawyer nephew Cecil Marley.

Yep, Bob's graphic artist Neville Garrick tells how Bob related being chased away from Cecil'sv law office where he had gone to seek a loan to buy a car so that the wouldn't have to walk/take bus or ride bicycle to distribute their records. Sir Hubert could confirm but I thinknCecil.Marley did indeed head WICB at one point, perhaps late 60's or early 70's

I find Don Taylor's Marley and Me fascinating also.
Who'd have imagined that two Jamaican boys fathered by white men employed by British colonial employees would together conquer the world! Especially since those white men abandoned them leaving their poor. black mothers to struggle. Don's mom actually left him on his dad's desk at Up Park Camp! The man then "boarded him out" but stopped paying shortly thereafter.
Don became a car washing street-boy downtown, read the rest...fascinating!

Just saw this thread. The history of white men having children with black women
was rife in Jamaica throughout time but such matters were handled in a more
than cavalier manner of rejection or ignoring of offspring.
Bob case is well known.
Tracking families and related ones are not always easy either.
There was a big construction company ,Marley and Plant which did significant
work in the building of the National Stadium.
IO always thought that Bob was related to the owners and during a heated
discussion at a bar about PNP and JLP ,the Stadium became an issue and one
side boasted that the Green party could never match what Manley did for Sports
and the Stadium issue came up..and one of the guys said that Bob was
related to that Marley who had a hand in building it. I was very surprised
and have never confirmed it.
But in the Yard you never know.
It was somewhat similar to what I discovered with the Jamaican One Test wonder
George Gladstone. Gladstone is the middle name.Last name is Morais ,a jew but he
was always known as Gladstone and registered as such with the Cricket Board.
His daughter revealed this to me when I visited her home to get info for his
obituary for the Gleaner. She did not bat an eye in revealing it.
That took me by surprise too ..time healed it seemed.

And Yes Cecil Marley was an elite member of Kingston CC, represented Jamaica
and even captained the Team in a few games back then. He was a also
WICB President and JCB President like Karl Nunes ,the first Test captain.
I just can't recall the years of his presidency but in either role they did ok
One of them perhaps it was Nunes who played a role
getting Australia to tour in 1955. Kingston CC provided the leadership then
as Allan Rae and Hendricks followed in the footsteps. All being former players
at some level.

Per You tube Bob's mom reluctantly gave him to his father, because he promised that he was going to send him to boarding school in St. Thomas. After that she heard very little from the father until someone from Nine Miles saw Bob downtown on Heywood Street and told her. She went in search of him and found him on Heywood Street living with an old woman. At six years old it was like he was actually taking care of the lady. So, these white men had no nurturing feelings toward the offsprings they fathered with young black girls.

Yes, Maas Hubie is a treasure awn ya. Sentiments shared.

You have to be the thirstiest man alive you want to compare a woman that is a billionaire who has created a well known fashion and make up line known through the planet that does need to sing anymore lol

Lets go with your argument even if that was true what happen between jaybz and her which is dubios .look at where she end up one of the biggest recording artists of the 2000s and a businesswoman .while your scum queens have to resort to rubbing them pum pum onstage for trinkets.
