Is Da Silva The Chosen West Indies Captain?
In reply to XDFIX
It is a straight race between Silva and Imlach but Silva has much more international experience and experience at leadership of WI teams. I see Silva as captain and Imlach as vice captain may be the best way to go for WI cricket.

Da Silva will be the chosen one!
His batting form has put him back in the frame and it was good to see him produce such consistency. He should certainly be back in the XI, without the gloves though as Imlach proved he deserves his place behind the stumps.
Da Silva as captain would be the most logical choice at this time. He is a positive character and going forward, that will help as the team needs a refreshing approach. The new batting order is going to be interesting to watch, right out of the gate from the selection process, to when they take the fight to the touring Australians in a few months.

He would have been asked the question so he may not be the one angling. That said, he is the logical choice. Imlach should be hands down the first choice keeper. But DaSilva is a better bat than his stats show. He needs to give u the gloves (which he is not very good at) and bat higher up the order. I would rate him to score a lot of runs....more than the other top order pretenders

The best option in my honest opinion!

Not sure, but worth a try.
the only option for captaincy
we cant have another passenger in the role
True to all of what was said above.
At first I was thinking maybe, just maybe the powers-that -be may bring in Shai Hope.
However Shai's commitment is not to test cricket.
I would rather have someone like Da Silva, who despite his shortcomings with the glove, does have the ability as a batsman.
Also he looks like he really does have West Indies cricket at heart.
Giving him the captaincy would not bother me at all. Let's see what he can do.
I am inclined to believe that DaSilva will get better at batting as he gets older.

And what about the rest of them, will they get better as they get older. He cannot do it alone, not even the greatest TiTs (of all), could.

Understood. He can't do it alone. Let's work with what we've got. We do not have 14 and 15-year old sensations to take us to the next level just yet.
Da Silva has a positive attitude, which matters a lot. Andrews looks promising, but still needs some more first class exposure.
If Athanaze, Kavem Hodge and Brathwaite and the rest of the crew get their heads together and start thinking as batsmen, I have faith they will do well.
I am not asking for everyone to come good at the same time, but we do need a Shiv Chanderpaul or Larry Gomes type batter to steady the innings when things start to fall apart.
I see some of that in Athanaze. He just needs to be consistent. A little bulk on the frame would also help
