7. This is West Indies fighting to get to the bottom. If other countries/leagues can select the best West Indian players in playing for them, why can't the West Indies selectors pick them. That's why we can't qualify for ODI's and T20's.

But do you agree with the FB poster that CWI selectors do now want to see WI improve in ranking due to their poor selection?

I think like how Jamaican Track and Field team has to undergo elimination trial races before selection for World games and Olympics. CWI actually once had trial games before selecting a team. I would advocate for selecting all eligible players and arrange trial matches, then select only the best performers. However, CWI would rather select their favourite players rather than allow individual players to play for their respective positions on the team, hence the continued decline of WI team performances and ICC ranking.

The best team has been selected based on the available players. Too much complaining. We need to win these series vs Ireland and England to move up the ranking. We are seeing some good signs with batters like Jangoo, Rutherford, Carty and greaves having good starts to their careers which should complement Hope and Lewis in the short term. Bowling has been on the rise too with Matthew Forde, Seales and Shamar joining Aljo, Motie.
