Angel Reese

..may be brash and not everyone's cup of tea...but the blatant racism against her is nauseating. It DEI parlance she is the classic case of 'intersectionality' ..not just black ..but female. People are looking for every reason to disparage the girl. I will NOT support it. Caitlin Clark is talented but there is concerted effort to elevate her above Angel. Just like the NBA has always done and continue to do with Luke Walton, Djokic, Luka, AR etc etc .

I have been a diehard Laker for as long I've been watching the NBA....but ..I am seeing some worrying signs.

Its part of the reason I will NEVER support skunts like Skip Bayless and plethora of commenters as they try to diminish Lebron's legacy.

The attack on black excellence in America has reached dizzying proportions.

She should have been working on her shooting/layups in the off season instead of 'moggling' all 'bout if she wanted to shut the haters up. The WNBA will not be the first league to promote itself by elevating rivalries between black and white players. Reese overreacted to a basketball play that was a hard foul to prevent an easy layup and put her on the free throw line. I have no idea why Clark was given a technical foul because there was no push. But Reese brings a lot of criticism on herself, even though I agree that some of the criticism directed at her is racist. This could be another Bird v Magic rivalry because Bird and Magic battled against each other in college and then in the NBA, but Reese has a long way to go before she can be considered on the level of Magic Johnson.

Regarding your reference to DEI in the NBA for white players, Austin Reaves is overrated, but how many players in the NBA do you think are better than Luka and/or Jokic at this point of their careers? I can think of maybe 5 players and it would be debatable, especially if we are talking about Jokic.

In fact, I'd argue that for most of the people on this planet, race and ethnicity are two of the primary ways through which people see each other. I don't think people realize how entrenched this thing is. I blame social media primarily for this

I will tell you why I brought Lebron into it.

I saw a social media post with the usual lovefest for CC and disdain and lambasting of Angel Reese and of course..the same people bashing Angel and worshipping CC started to bash Lebron with comments like AR is flopper like Lebron....blah blah. That is why I brought up Lebron, the post I saw which was about the hard foul and whether it should be flagrant or not turned into a Lebron bashing post. It is what prompted my post.

Bashing AR turned into bashing Lebron, by guess who. I think you know.

So many less than stellar other players in the league..why do you think they targeted him?

The surprise is all this energy for the WNBA. I tried back in the late 90s or whenever it started and I could not get into it.

And even after casually following the hyped Clark and her college career I still couldn't watch.

To be a West Indies cricket fan and watch the WNBA makes me wonder if the misfits are masochists.
