Rain impacts Premiership 1 League final round action...
Central Sports poised to retain title

Defending Premiership 1 League champions Central Sports look set to retain their red-ball crown, with their final-round title-deciding fixture against second-placed Bess Motors Marchin Patriots most likely heading for a draw at Invader’s Ground in Felicity.Rain delayed the start of play in Central Trinidad yesterday, but once proceedings got under way, Marchin struck twice after sending in the hosts to bat.

Opener Kjorn Ottley scored 16 before falling to Ricky Jaipaul in the tenth over with the score on 51. Four balls later, number three batter Leonardo Julien was back in the dugout for two, leaving Kamil Pooran and Aaron Alfred to steady the innings.Pooran reached 75 not out off 80 balls, laced with nine fours and three sixes, while Alfred was unbeaten on 16 off 48 deliveries when rain returned, forcing an early end to the first day.
