Kirk Continued to be ignored!!

The more things change, the more they remain the same with West Indies Cricket!! CWI specializes in destroying young cricketers' careers.

Once again, we see certain players being overlooked and unfairly treated. It’s hard to believe Kirk McKenzie couldn’t find a place in one of these squads. Not long ago, he was the only top-order batsman who looked remotely composed against Australia.

Yes, his recent scores haven't been the best—but neither have Athanaze’s, who continues to be selected. I have nothing against Athanaze—I rate him—but it’s puzzling why Kirk isn’t afforded the same patience and opportunity. He is a talent for the future, and this continued disregard is difficult to understand.

Wickham didn’t have the best series, yet he was selected—a decision I fully support because he’s clearly talented. But if that’s the approach, then why not Kirk McKenzie?

The level of insularity in CWI and selectors is alarming, imagine during the last match in Australia, only one batsman stood up and shouldered the batting. In fact, the very first name on any Squad to Australia must be Kirk McKenzie, when other popular batsmen were ducking and running from pace like fire, he was hitting balls to the boundary.
JCA is at fault, sucking up to CWI while ignoring its own players without any plans to plan and implement its own tours for Jamaicans players.

As one of Kirk’s supporters from way back, the sad truth is that he failed big time in our recently completed regional first class season.
Kirk needs to focus on matters technique and fight to regain his spot.
He should be knocking down doors.

Arguably the most glaring omission of all from a performance standpoint over time is Joshua Bishop.

WTF???

And who the hell is Gilson Tyson?

that's true....but so too did chase. he was there and batted twice during TT's two day pummeling of barbados and the poor man's mecca. And yet still now he is WI captain.

I agree that he had an average season, but so did Athanaze, with an average of 28, and Wickham an average of 23. Kirk was on par with an average of 26.

These players all show technical flaws, and that's not entirely on them. It's the result of a system that consistently fails to support player development.

It becomes a cycle: Athanaze turns 27 this year and will likely be cast aside soon, replaced by the next promising "talent."

What we really need is patience and a long-term approach to nurturing our players. Every year, we see a young player putting up numbers and sparking hope, only to struggle on the bigger stage. Just look at Louis. Let’s hope Anderson breaks the cycle

Test team is in flux.....only certainty.... captain albeit mediocre stats.......rest pick any...

As far as McKenzie is concerned, he was sent to India along with few others to rectify his technical flaws against spin...he is on radar....playing in Caribbean, assumably in spin pitches.... McKenzie may be for N.Z. tour...horses for courses.... President XI vs Australia...

You are talking about regional cricket when the man led the batting on the test team against Australia? When so many regional bullies cannot buy a run in test cricket?? You guys are jokers!!
