12.28pm: The start has been officially delayed - but it's not for the reason you think. Apparently West Indies haven't made it to the ground yet. Here's what the update from the ECB says: "Due to a delayed arrival of one of the playing teams, who are stuck in heavy traffic north of the river, the scheduled start of play will be delayed.

Match delayed by the ridiculous London traffic....

Ravi Rampaul (West Indies assistant coach) has been sighted at The Oval! And it's still not raining! More as we get it...

It's been miserable all morning here in North London, so if it's the same in South London, I'm not optimistic.

1.10pm: England win the toss and bowl, a pretty straightforward call given the conditions.

West Indies, meanwhile, have made three changes, bringing in Shamar Joseph, Sherfane Rutherford and the fit-again Evin Lewis - who made 176 on this ground in 2017 - for Matthew Forde, Shimron Hetmyer and Jewel Andrew

Shai Hope:
Probably should have walked. We executed a lot better (in the previous match). Executing the plans and ensuring we have a better game. Evin is back, Sherfance is also back, Shamar Joseph also comes in. Hope they make an impact

Harry Brook:
We are gonna have a bowl. We were on the bus for a while and then we all decided to get off and get on some lime bikes in. We were in a little bit earlier than the West Indies boys, but we are here now ready to go. (Message to the team this morning) We haven't had a chat yet but it's going to be 'let's try to be as dominant as possible.' We have got an opportunity here to try and win the series 3-0 and we're going to giving it our best crack. There was one area - Root's big score - something we didn't have in the first game which is really nice to see. Hopefully a few other lads can have that as well today. I quite like the balance that we've got, we've got a lot of depth with the bat and that gives us opportunities to chase scores like that down the other day where we had a tough start. We've got a good bowling unit as well.

Saqib Mahmood to Brandon King, wide, outswinger, too wide outside off, Brandon King chases it well away from his body and misses for it be wided

0.3
Saqib Mahmood to Brandon King, 1 run, 135kph, fuller length, King presses forward and pushes to mid-off for a risky single. King has to move around the bowler as well but luckily for him, Brook doesn't collect the ball cleanly

Brydon Carse to Lewis, FOUR, Lewis gets off the mark with a boundary! 131kph, harmless short ball outside off, Lewis hops and cuts aerially behind square on the off-side. No chance for third man to cut it off

Saqib Mahmood to Brandon King, FOUR, 133kph, Brandon King comes down the track, moves leg-side in the process to free his arms. It's a fullish delivery outside off and the batter reaches out for it by bending and then drives over wide mid-off. Off the bottom part of the bat

Brydon Carse to Lewis, out Caught by Smith!! Gone! Hip-high back of a length ball, Lewis swivels to pull hard, hits him high on the bat and hence the timing isn't spot-on. Jamie Smith flies to his right at shortish midwicket and snaffles it with both hands. Makes a tough catch look easy. Lewis struck a boundary earlier with a similar shot but this one went in front of square as the length wasn't that short. England get the breakthrough.

Lewis c Smith b Brydon Carse 8(12) [4s-2]

Potts to Brandon King, FOUR, 131kph, Brandon King greets Potts with an authoritative boundary. Pitched up outside off, King gets forward and drives hard and uppishly to the left of the bowler. Mid-off is too wide

Saqib Mahmood to Shai Hope, out Caught by Brydon Carse!! Golden duck for Shai Hope! 128kph, with leg gully and deep backward square leg in place, it's been banged in short by Saqib Mahmood, Hope goes after with a pull shot first ball and pays the price. Only manages a top-edge, more height than distance. Carse moves to his left from deep backward square leg to catch it. Mahmood is elated. It was probably a plan that worked perfectly.
