Who would he replace in that lineup? If he can keep wicket and bat 7 then sure...

My friend, why waste time with such minutia, attention driven threads.

Thanks, Seechy. Please follow up with a right hand All Time XI and then let us see which would have won a hypothetical test match between them. Btw does Motie bat righthanded or left handed??

seems like the criteria is once you bat left handed, the hand you bowl with does not matter.

Ah yes. Given the paucity of left arm bowlers (most are spinners) to have played Test cricket for WI, I decided to go for a left hand batting XI.

I disagree. Shiv has a 50+ average after 164 tests, 9th highest run scorer of all time (2nd only to Lara for WI) and is arguably Guyana's greatest. Kalli does not have a better record than Shiv, so he cannot be left out. Freddo or Gayle can go if Kalli must be in the XI.

My pleasure. For a right handed XI, I would go with:

1. Gordon Greenidge
2. Conrad Hunte
3. George Headley
4. Everton Weeks
5. Viv Richards (c)
6. Clyde Walcott
7. Jeff Dujon (wk)
8. Malcolm Marshall
9. Joel Garner
10. Michael Holding
11. Lance Gibbs

There is more variety to the left handed bowling attack compared to the right handed team. But I think the right handed team would thrash the lefties.

Motie bats left handed btw.

With one exception, the left handed team had a 4 in one player.

I think that the lefties will give the righties a good fight. The difference may well be the experience of the rightie bowlers even though they appear to be a bowler short. Didnt either Valentine or Ramadhin bat left handed? Valentine was certainly a left arm spinner. That would certainly level the playing field (pun intended) for the leftie bowling
