West Indies Cricket is dead

In the past, every time we hit a new low, we always had a couple of players in the team that we knew, in the back of our heads, we could rely on to take us out of the rot.
There were always players in the team we could have hope in. From Brian Lara, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Curtly Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Dwayne Bravo, Marlon Samuels, Jerome Taylor, Kemar Roach, Jermaine Lawson, Sunil Narine, etc.

Today it feels different. Even with Shai Hope in the Test team, this feels hopeless.

We have NO world class batsmen.... they cant play pace nor spin....o survive one session of batting is too much..
We have potentially developing world class fast bowlers....but obviously bowlers alone can win matches

some of the bowlers have more guts as batsmen than the actual batsmen. alzarri joseph came in at 11-6 and showed the entire top order that yuh cant play a forward defense with a foot of s[pace between bat and pad.

As a #10- 11 batsman Shamar has batting talent and bats with an uncluttered mind and without any fear of failure
The test batsmen ....in addition to being technically deficient are all burdened with the fear of failure...satisfied with even 30 something runs.
CWI needs to arrange regular batting clinics with qualified remedial batting coaches from India or Australia.

Unless a miracle happens, West Indies will be forgotten. We may play in major tournaments and finish last. A laughing stock in cricket.

Sad but true. Didnt Jamie Smith make his debut against WI last year? The man already has 1000 runs in test cricket in 21 innings while certain posters here bigging up men who average in the teens after the same number of innings.

hope has very acute technical weaknesses that even inexperienced test pacers have no issue exploiting. his avg is 23 for a reason in tests

excellent desciption. Aside from Brandon, if that ball does something our batsmen don't expect to happen, they're gone. and even if they don't out that ball, the level of mental discombobulation that takes place makes sure they're gone not long after. and of course it does not help that they allow bowlers to bowl six deliveries at them through the reluctance to take singles

The greatest weakness and even in T20 is concentration and taking responsibility for the innings. Once you are in and set you should be able to select shots properly to keep momentum and exert pressure on the bowlers. Hope, King and Chase in the 2 T20I's showed they cannot do that. They should've been not out 80-a ton with the lower order having more freedom to go after bowlers. They folded.
