She won to get in the tournament. She played well, she has to improve her ranking to get easier 1st round matches

At her age and the results she has been getting, you think she can get better?. She cannot beat most higher ranked players and has not been able to do it for years. to compound it She is heavy. Mother time affects like just like father time affected Federer, Sampras etc. She is no longer an elite player and has not been for a decade and more.
She is 45 and unfit. She may win one or 2 matches. but ...............

Well, for her just being relevant again might be enough, she gets a participation check in the major tournament.

One thing she doesn’t meet is the money. Venus just love the sport and she’s well respected by her peers and the young’uns.
In her post-match interview, she said it was so great to play pain free. That was not the case in the latter part of her career. She also said she has no plans to travel to play overseas tournaments
