Club Mobay & the election

Mon, Sep 1, '25 at 10:03 AM
So I landed in Mobay yesterday and all was well until I walked up the first set of stairs to immigration. For those who know the Mobay airport you have to walk a long way from that first set of stairs to the immigration agents. Well, there are about 40 kiosks that may be used for self-check in but unfortunately none was working and so the line backed up from the immigration agents stations to those stairs. That created a miserable experience especially given that there was no one to explain what was happening. Anyway 2 hours later I got through immigration.

Club Mobay
The experience caused me to learn of Club Mobay. For those who do not know of it, it's a service that charges US$50 per person to fast track you through immigration and there are some other benefits. Even if I knew of it, I would not pay the $50 because if I am on vacation I am in no hurry for anything.

Ok so now that I had to spend so much time clearing immigration as I drove to Negril via Hanover, I saw busses and cars and more buses and cars and even more, nuff ah dem, on the way to the meeting in Sam Sharpe square. A whole lot of enthusiasm for the PNP.

If the PNP wins, I hope they do much better that they did the last time they were in power.

My wish:
No shot nah bus

Is that like TSA global entry?

It’s like TSA pre check but you pay once for TSA pre check while you pay each you enter in the case of Club Mobay.

I headed there near end of July and returned mid-August. Kiosks were operational and full of users... to the point where I skipped them and went straight to a counter. (Yes, I still had to fill out the C5, but the assistant gave me a hardcopy, and I was done with it in no time flat.) Never heard of Club MoBay and wouldn't have used it if I did.

Re the Hanover you mentioned, when you rounded Mosquito Cove (west of Sandy Bay)-- about mid-way there's the Waterfront Restaurant, a popular tour bus stop. That's where my b.d. party was held this past 10-Aug; I hail from 1½ miles or so inland from there.

Enjoy your holidays, brederin.
